This thread needs renaming to spaff material 👍 That’s gorgeous. Hmmm well... the last one is modelled on Krytons' testicles.

As fuel was used the centre of gravity changed which altered the handling dramatically. Good idea In theory I guess but when you now consider that chassis design has developed to allow for fuel load and how it impacts on the turning ability of a bike it’s not as simplistic. Bike chassis design is so complex due to all of these factors and myriad others. Tony foales book on it is an interesting read even though it’s decades old. The problem with motorcyclists are they tend to be very traditional in their outlook. Anything new has to be made to look like a normal bike think bmw telever system or hidden bmw hossack system. And incredible handling ‘bike’ was the quasar unfortunately it didn’t look like a bike consequently for conservative bikers it would never do.

The handling on my Lc would throw people as it doesn’t dive under braking so it feels very odd. Taken a while to acclimatise myself to it.

Be interested to see how 1980’s bikes wheel base compares to modern stuff. Looks so long and low.

55.7 for a gsxr 1000 similar for a zx10r then if you look at the rake and trail figures they are bloody supertankers. 58 for a gsxr1100 just shows how they are progressing.

The kr500 was a monocoque chassis as well wasn’t it Johnny? Another chassis ahead of the game esp the mechanical anti dive of which I’m a fan. I love all the weird chassis the elf hub centred steering the Suzuki ciba geigy carbon/alloy sandwich chassis. Top stuff.
