Didn’t dredsa do an 8leading shoe? Love the look of big drums I think Dave Degans supplied 8 leaders but I don’t know if they were made by dresda. I always liked the look of the classic magnesium European jobs like Fontana, Grimeca and Ceriani. Could never afford them for any of my builds so I had to make do with 2LS jobs. Nice but not as impressive. As you say Veg, they do look the biz. John

Thats the bike that never raced. OW24 350 – FOUR It is a 350-4 cylinder The engine was closely derived from the 500 OW23 which was developed in 1974 to win the title with Ago in 1975. The prototype was successfully tested in Japan. According to Ferry the frame was a monohull with the fuel inside, and a monocoque dummy tank seat unit. Finally the factory estimated that the OW16 TZ twins would be enough to win the 350 title and gave the order to destroy this unique prototype. Miraculously, the engine survived the massacre. Ferry tried to gather some documentation to tackle the building of a replica bike, but to no avail. Yamaha sent him plans and dimensions of the time, but no one who had seen the motorcycle in person could provide testimony, and Ferry gave up and returned the engine to the factory, where its now on display in the Yamaha Communications Plaza.

Scary stuff with no front brake at all? Just imagine being flat out on the salt, and needing to stop. Jon

I have a pair of leathers like those worn by the rider on the red and white liquid cooled but air cooled chassis bike. Must have been circa 1982 when purchased them from I think Motorcycle City when they have one of their big reduction sales on, no internet buying then just travelled to the store which I think was in Nottingham possibly do remember it being cold and what seemed like a long way from Gloucester. Not sure they would fit now though, did look cool in the day though and good retro leathers today. Rich
