Evening men I finally collected my parts from powder coating today, also cheaper than I was quoted by the boss The finish is lovely, but i noticed even though all thread holes were supposed to be masked there is a build up of paint round them. There was some bungs in some of them. For these I will run a tap through to clean up. My main issue is the headstock and swingarm where the bushes go. There is a large amount of paint build up and I wonder if anyone can suggest the best method to remedy this? I was thinking sharp stanley knife around the inner edges? Any advice greatly appreciated thanks Head stock Swingarm

I would of thought a sharp Stanley would be ok. Just a finicky job. If coat is well attached to the metal it shouldn't be a prob. I've done similar. And being warm should help.

I agree, that is very poor As others have said, stanley blades and a Dremmel will sort it. Dusty

I used a powder coater I had used about 10 years a go for my new build and must say their standards had gone way down and I wouldn't use them again
They too did a crap job at masking some stuff, one example was the steering stem ffs
In the end they knocked some money off as I explained this was going to take a lot of time and effort to clean up
They offered to do stuff again but I said no thanks as they weren't going to touch my stuff again !
Maybe tell them the same ?

Cheers for the advice guys. There is a story to why i used these guys. My local coaters although the finish was great, once they had relocated my parts that they had "misplaced" for weeks, basically the boss told me to do one when i asked for some money off for the temporary loss of parts and time taken to do job, hence i didn't use them again. So i used this company the next time, their process and work looked great, as was the last job they did for me years ago. Here is their website when i dropped the parts off i said to the guy "will it be 2-3 weeks for completion?" he said "yes about that" 3 weeks passed so i called them. The boss said they had been snowed under with work and would complete my items this week and told me to ring again Thursday. So i rang yesterday and asked if it was done and he said the blasting was done when was i thinking of collecting. I told him today if possible. I then heard him tell a guy to leave what he is doing and get on with my parts. He told me to ring this morning to see if complete, which it was so i went to collect. Foreman gave me the bubble wrapped parts and asked for less than i was quoted. "That's less than i was quoted by the boss" i said. He said "That's because i priced this job up instead" So i paid and left. You all know the rest Looks like i have some dremmeling to do Thanks again
