I have had major problems getting the bike started after I reset the floats to 21 mm I have been kicking the shit out of it all week the best I got was about 20 seconds of running so thought must have big air leak or something did a leak down test at 6.5 lb still at that after 10 mins so a big relief there, must of had carbs off 10 times keep cleaning blowing etc in the end I moved floats again to 22 mm moved needle up one notch and got prepared to kick my nuts out again.. choke out, it started first kick I could not believe it only run it for a few mins as could not breathe in the shed😷. I have a question as I have now moved the needle up one click how much weaker have I made it ? Is it going to be a chance of seizure ? I am also now running premix 32/1 and not oil pump any advice from tuning guru’s ?

Only way to know for sure is to get it checked on a dyno with a gas analyser. Worth the time and money to get it right as it should run better and be safer.

did you do the bottom end as well? was the left piston as oily? If no to both... could be leaky right crank seal?

Hi mate, no bottom was rebuilt by Rob on here I am absolutely sure it’s 100% did a leak test to really only test what I had done head gasket etc it was all good. Problem was with carbs float settings so at least now it’s running but will get it set up properly later, as for the side stand I had to mod it a bit but nothing to difficult.

Yes, crankcase and seals all leakdown tested when engine was built.
Not sure how good or bad the carbs are...

I've started to strip them for an ultrasonic clean but probably be the weekend before I get back onto them to finish them off. If yr interested in buying the set drop me a PM. Shaun.

Yea still got that seat 😂😂 I don’t know who tuned the barrels, I contacted the original builder he said they just came in a box of bits, Dave had to do some work on the head, I think squish was to tight ( maybe he will clarify as I am not to sure what it involved) obviously he did all the setting up and other work .

Hi Rob, no not good sent barrels away to PJ ME for relining, ordered a new crank, genuine seals etc so going to start from scratch over the winter. Is this an air leak or mixture any suggestions?

If it was set on the dyno it shouldn't be mixture
Any chance it has stopped oiling that cylinder?

Too late for it now, but you could have done a leak down test after the blow up to see if it was a leak anywhere.
Since you leak down tested it, it is very unlikely to be an air leak.
