Import duty is based on the value is it not? It’s a percentage of the purchase price or am I mad?

It’s value and postage

Import duty/vat is calculated at 20% of the total price of goods plus shipping
You pay £9.99 then no fees as below the starting threshold.
That's how amazon used to sell cd/dvd's cheaper than anyone else
Shipped from outwith the UK so no vat
Customs may want proof of purchase price though as when they see the size and weight of that parcel they will think the import doc has been filled in undervalued to get round taxes
Prove what you paid and they can't do a thing

Cheers Steve. You not wading in for one? If I didn't have so much on the go... You nearly had me when you said about who could do the best build for £100 lol Got my son's old bike getting in the way in the garage. Keep meaning to take it to a charity place as was never really used. Sat chained up at my caravan for a year lol Steve

I was tempted too, but managed to resits. I see it has a dry clutch, a copy and paste..... Type of Clutch: Friction Plate / Dry It is no secret that im not a big fan of Chinese Engineering, I do like their food though. My mind is boggeling at how many yards a Chinese dry clutch is going to last for ! :-) In saying that, approx 10 years ago, I bought a brand new in the box Chinese petrol 2 stroke strimmer. The price was so cheap, I thought if it lasts one summer it will be fine. Its still going strong and I have used it every few weeks, every summer, for approx 10 years ! The only thing I have had to do to it was replace the petrol pipes, which rotted after about 5 years. and clean the plug and washable air filter. I will look forward to seeing what you all do with your shiney new £9.99 2 stroke engines. Steven.

If paid through PayPal you can't go wrong
I had a dispute with an eBay seller who dragged the refund/Replace process out for 3 months before I finally lost my rag
EBay couldn't help as over 30 days
Contacted PayPal and they sorted it and refunded no problem
