Thinking of running my mk2 125 lc on premix after the piston rings welded themselves to the piston. Was running with oil pump and appeared to be delivering sufficient oil. Question is can I leave the 2 stroke pump in position or does it need to be removed if I decide to go for premix? Luckily no damage to bore so just a new piston kit required.

why not just send your pump off to arrow and get it serviced. will be returned all set up exactly how you want it. but to answer your question, yes you can leave it in place but remove the pipes and blank the feed to the carb. I wouldn't recommend running premix. Premix relies on having fuel running at all times to provide oil. zero throttle coasting produces no fuel/oil mix and can cause nip up's or siezures. where as a properly serviced and set up pump will provide the required amount of oil at all times.
