Eventuall got my MK2 taxed tested and MOTd so could take her out on the road for the first time. Not what I was expecting, totally bogged down and flat, until 7000rpm then she's away. Almost unridable around town. Was running with a micron on so dropped it off and put the standard pipe back on but very little difference. The pipe is a 12a which has been cut and restriction removed. Dropped the carb off and absolutely spotless. Main jet found to be 230, standard set up should be 195 according to haynes manual so have ordered one. Any idea what size main jet are people running, just need to get some mid range performance so the bike is usable. Any help would be much appreciated. finished (4) by graeme fullard, on Flickr

Hello, Microns are not the best for low end and midrange, but kick like a mule after that. 👍 I run an Allspeed- 6-7k is a wet fart.😤
With a 12A pipe, with the ice-cream cone restricter out, about a 205 - 210 main jet would be a good starting point. It’s a good pipe for midrange to 9ish, but it won’t kick you.
Make your decision with the pipe, then experiment and plug chop.
It’s a bugger... Leda Kit, back in the day, K&N or standard air box, 12A v 10W.... not much difference.

Thanks, need to get it run in first before running at such high revs, thats one of my main concerns, going to try a change of main jet size and take it from there.

Have you got the std airbox or cone filter?
Are you running a 12a or 10w carb?
