The problem is those barrels were specifically designed for a racer to make high RPM power and keep it on the boil, you can’t put metal back easily on that exhaust port timing.
Just a thought, and you may not particular like the idea, but you could make those TZ barrels far more road going and powerful at the same time. Would cost a few quid though for a +4 crank, but you could always sell the existing one to offset. I’m sure mutts and Tobyjugs are talking about long stroke cranks for an LC?
There are two options or a combination next depending on how close the rings come to the top of the barrel. Either just drop the floor of all ports by 2mm or a combination with skimming the bottom of the barrels. Of course the head will also need adjusting depending where metal has been removed to set squish. It will effectively equate to more of a difference as the stroke will have increased thus an exhaust port timing in degrees would be significantly less. Transfer ports could be raising mildly according to tuners discretion.
The extra capacity coupled with the port timing adjustment would significantly alter the power delivery.
With a set of pipes to match I think you’d have a different and unique engine.
