So, not posted much for a while. I have two hybrids, a 4LO and a 31k. Most of last year was spent with the 31k as i built it, crashed it and re-built it!! Anyway my 4LO has been a bit neglected, this one So....bought a present for her in the way of some 'Spondon 440 yokes' to replace the modded RGV ones that i had. These really are a beautiful work of art and it almost seems a shame to fit them! They weigh 2 kilogrames where the RGV ones weigh 4, it all helps! But fit them i did! Complete with new head bearings and a change of handlebars from grey to silver! Everything fitted perfectly and even the horns mount in the traditional 'LC' way, so very pleased. When i binned my 31k, i damaged the wing mirror, a really nice bit of kit made by Rizoma. However these cost £120 approx!! So after searching on the internet i found some Chinese made ones that a similar but bigger. The quality is just not there compared to the Rizoma one, BUT, for less than £30, i got two! One for each hybrid. I will fit them and try them, hopefully they will not fall apart! I may even keep them if i can cope with the quality!!
Cheers for now Mouse

The yokes are very nice. Last night i fitted a pair as well. I had found a damaged taper bearing. So thought I might as well fit them. Mine are made for the early R6 and they fit like a glove.

I really like that too.
Even on my short list as schemes for my latest LC hybrid. If I choose this I’ll either do metallic black or black with a candy blue top coat (or maybe both?) to make it slightly different.

Cheers all for the comments!
Headcoats, yes they are NK brackets
Many thanks for all your help and great advice Steve (Midlife)
Phil, yes the seat is alcantara, i got a car upholsterers local to me to do it and yes Dusty, they are beautifully made, as soon as i finish putting it back together, i'll bring it round.
Off to see the guru who is Muttsnuts in April for a bit of fine tuning for this year, can't wait!!

In the past I realised a certain thing about custom scooters. If something was near perfect then even if one thing was out of place it would stick out and get mentioned.
With something with a lot of things not quite right you tended to mention the good bits which again stuck out.
This bike is certainly in the first group. If it were mine the only thing I’d change is I’d have the upper forks anodised clear.
In fact mouse, much as you YPVS is nice I don’t even think I’d of bothered if I owned that LC.

I think if you are a motor bike fan and you see the gold coloured forks you automatically think serious equipment, because it links you directly to the Ohlins famous colour mentally without thinking about it.

Tobyjugs, I can see what you mean, but would you wear red flairs just because some famous person wore them? I build bikes as I like them, not to impress people and I imagine most people do the same. I like the gold forks. I think guys often deviate from the original gold finish because, after 18 odd years, the anodised finish looks pretty ropey. Original factory finishes aren't usually the highest quality, and forks are in the firing line of anything coming at you on the road ! All the Usd's I've had show lots of cosmetic wear, nics, gouges etc, and it's cheaper and easier to polish them rather than have the hassle and expense of getting them re anodised. Those forks on Mouse's Lc are in exceptionally good condition, and I think suit the bike's aesthetics really well. That bike is mint, and it gets ridden hard. Couple of years back he rode 50 odd miles to Brands, ragged it round the track for 6, fast laps, then rode it home ! It really is as good as it looks, and runs beautifully. And the Pv hybrid is a different beast of course, but every bit as good as the Lc. I'm sure most of us have more than one bike in the garage, and we like them for different reasons. Each to their own Dusty

Thanks guys, that really is high praise indeed! I feel quite humbled.
Re the forks, i kept them gold, just to break up the colours a bit, nothing more. As Dusty said, they are in pretty good nick and Maxton re-valved/sprung them for me and also polished the knuckles.
Cheers Mouse

All I was saying is I think Mouse’s LC and powervalve are similar riding position and power so I would probably always have picked the LC to ride. They are two different animals because my powervalve has clipons and every effort to strengthen the frame for handling. The LC will be primarily for looks with a more refrained riding position. Jon

hi Mouse thanks for that, its the rad mount side as I have ordered a k-tech one but its a different type "body" mount to the NHK type norbo sells and I could see in one of your photos that your damper didn't look like a NHK damper no great shakes if you haven't got one as I have a good idea how I will mount it to the rad bracket Mart
