Our lass bought me this a couple of years ago for my birthday, with other projects on the go it’s sat in the corner waiting. So whilst The Shocker is having its engine and exhausts built, I thought I’d crack on with this. So I completely stripped it and sent the black bits off to the powder coaters. That’s the original Ken loading it into the car. Along with all the other bits, turned around in 3 days and all for free following a favour from me to him. Had an hour on the polisher Then started playing and put a few bits together and then mocked up the tank seat and rear sets to tickle my love for it and crack on. Awaiting parts and zinc bolts to carry on with the build, hopefully more pics this week of it coming together. I’ve got some Higgspeeds for it and the paint is done, I built a spare engine for The Riddler just in case of failure so that’s destined for this, it’s not going to be an anorak bike, just a nice period rider.

Back in 67? there were a couple of kids who had X7's on which for a couple of springtime months, performed noontime 'stunt' acts in front of my school. Rascals could shift thru 3 gears without noticeably dropping their wheelies.. even a little. But then that's also likely all they had accomplished to date. Simpler times

Microns are the best looking pipes for X7's I bought a pair of Allspeeds for mine (£99 new from M&P), and they never looked as good as Microns Dusty

Microns were a full pipe, allspeeds just fitted the standard downpipes, weren’t a good for power

Your pal needs to be named...bet some here would want his paintwork! Alex He’s a local chap in Nottingham, uses his mates spray shop so doesn’t do full time. This was £275 all in with decals. He’s doing The Shocker next, think that will be a bit closer to £350 as having silly paint.

buttoned the wiring loom up, mirrors came so had to have another mock up, that’s it now until the airbox sides come.
