So guys moving onto the footrests On modern bikes ( mostly ) you would find the peg attached to the bracket via a punch bolt with a simple taper and hole at bottom to allow a Rclip to secure These old LC have been riveted so I have to dismantle in order to get the springs re plated and the brackets re done ( my question is What are you guys doin with this restoration Are you using modern punch bolts as above Or on re assemble are you re riveting Thanks in advance mic

Button head bolt with nyloc nut same here, but have also seen them done like the more modern bikes with a drilled bar a couple of flat washers and a split pin. not a fan of this method and replace all like that with nuts & bolts on my modern bikes
