Fake one Alex, it’ll be his first car. He’s not a bike or car fan, he wants something for him and his fan girls. I want something safe, reliable and slow for him. There is/was an Abarth edition 500 here with a sequential shifter from the factory! I think it was about $7k (3.5k quid) on top of the top 'fast' one. I know a guy who didnt tick the box. I dont see him often and everytime I see the car I ask if hes upgraded it yet. He always looks unimpressed with my banter!

To get this back on track somewhat... Ive been out running errands today in my Evo. The rest of this week is going to be stormy and it lives in the garage so it made sense to have some fun on a nice 25 deg winter day with lots of sun. Found some lovely roads with some damp leaves on the corners to give the AYC a bit of a workout as well. Topped up the fuel as thats reasonable today* and the car is again ready for when the sun comes out at the weekend. * - you may not know this: Fuel prices in Aus dont stay the same, even on the same day. Its mad i know... So the price fluctuates over time on a roller coaster style of cheap to exy pricing. The prices can changes at any time, so dont see a good price on the way to work and think 'i'll fill up on the way home...' that could be a mistake. Some days it jumps 10p+ a liter and youve no idea if it will go down or up. There are apps and websites that list the prices so you can find the cheapest where you live and also some predict where the price might go next. In the example below you can see the price has plateaued at the bottom and is turning up, the happy faces dont go on much longer and will eventually go red, it could be 10-14 days until the price is a happy face again, or it could be sooner/later... Oh and yeah our fuel is half the price of yours but that doesnt mean we have to like it when its 30c more a litre over a few days ago...

Got a mate with a young son 1st car - Audi TT 2nd car - Toyota Soarer Back on topic there is a JDM Subaru on EBay just now with only 4000km's Those would be two great cars I reckon. Manual i hope. Link for the scooby? The Soarer was auto but he ripped it out and fitted a manual. Apparently you can't have an auto drift car 😄 Link to the 4000km Scooby, it's an older one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284189849585?hash=item422b08f7f1:g:dvcAAOSwmLpgC7UDSteve

OMG! Thats a beauty of an early WRX. Thats really not expensive for what is on offer I dont think, if you used it and enjoyed it as a second car im sure it'd hold it value over the years. very nice.

Ive been looking at the uk ads... im only hurting myself lol check this out... cheap but also flawed of course. Has a few red flags fluttering in the wind lol Got the usual rust but some nice extras as well. Amusingly the whole family is in the pics and the last pic shows the seller in her PJs. Mad. I wonder why there is a (coolant?) pipe on the ground near the back wheel lol. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174763304873?hash=item28b0b467a9:g:wJwAAOSwIchgmCfH

One less GRY... ooops. Apparently he was drifting on a drying track and it got traction, oversteered off the track. As it hit the kerb the tyre blew and the rest is history and expensive scrap...

Jeez that’s a biggie, and only 1 car stopped to check up! I thought that too, but lost of tracks tell you that you cant stop on the track as part of the rules so maybe this one too?

The joy of a blast on the Aussie equivalent to a UK B road.
This comment amused me:
"At first I was wondering why you had the HUD off, then I realised why. lol"
Yep... best not to have that info online...

Got excited today as there was a missed call from the Toyota dealer on my phone... Called them back and there news wasnt that there was a cancelled order looking for a home. Damn!
Call was just to confirm that we are all on track for Q4 build this year. Apparently they'll be able to tell me which build month is allocated for my car in late June / early July and from that we can estimate a delivery date from that info. So, back to waiting...

Great news jon, I finally ordered a golf clubsport (golf gti on steroids) for may delivery. 1 hour later and I get a call saying due to covid I had to take out directors indemnity on the business lease and the quoted figures were wrong and I need to pay another £40 or month plus vat, so my sub £400 plus vat pr month was going to be over £500. I told them to stick it.

So many things are changing due to Covid, makes you wonder what other things will come back to bite us that we dont know about, it'll all hurt in the hip pocket thats for sure

Interesting... Im pretty sure that was listed a while back elsewhere for quite a bit less, but doesnt change the fact its 'as new' I guess. As usual the talk of investments in ads leaves me a bit cold, especially at this price, as like a crated new LC you would have to never drive it and just store it and leave it in this condition to retain that value. And, as a car to drive it seems overpriced as £100k buys a lot of other drivers cars, but... its lovely and unused, and its someone's dream car for sure so it will sell I expect.

Thing is...it's £100K!! Not knocking the car at all, it's a fine bit of engineering and a great drivers tool. But think what other cars you could buy with that kind of wedge.

I think it’s brilliant that it’s available where else you going to find one? The price is salty and makes it only fit for storing-waftying over-inves!!!!!!. Or buying by a multi millionaire petrol head and ragging the arse out of it. I wouldn’t and couldn’t ever justify spending £100 k on it though.

That is supercool! I am a fan of Kei cars, I almost bought a Cappuccino when they were sold new in 95 and hanker after a Honda Beat (Mugen) still... I'd be tempted by that subaru if it was local lol Pic in case the ad is gone when people read this in years to come:

I do look at Kei cars on eBay and they seem to be sold by one bloke and all at about £7K. The little Cappuccino is a fave of mine but rare and about £5K. I've now given up even thinking about a Spitfire so am concentrating on MX5s. Way cheaper, faster, and reliable lol. My Yaris decided it didn't like it's silencer the other day so a new one put on. This year alone it's been clutch, alternator, drop link bushes, silencer, battery, wheel bearings, brakes and 4 new tyres. MOT due soon and if she fails I really will get an MX5, unless the Yaris is a very cheap fix!

Clay Wong drives the Sti V5 RA. Not a bad review really and hot on the heels of his GRY and Celica ST205 and Evo 6TME reviews he draws a few parallels.
