Just caught up on your build and whilst reading about the side stand I thought of an option that was used on a previous bike I’d owned in the past. I really don’t expect you to consider it as it’s not the best looking option. The swinging arm mounted side stand as used by MZ. Sorry.
At last it can stand up on its own rather than lent against the garage wall 👍👍
Finished off this week the complete lower sub frame tie bar mounting fabrication that was needed to mount a side stand and mounted the side stand on this fabrication
Also sorted out the gear change rearset linkage.
Also sorted out rear swing arm position. Did this by shortening the shock lower rose joint by 15mm, and then made up for now an adjustable length dog bone to set the correct ride height to get the correct chain run over the top of the arm
(Long term will make up a new unit once I know the final length)
Plan now is to sort out the rear master cylinder with a new mount to get it in the correct position
Also got some carbs this week and dry fitted these to see what rooom I have left below the tank moulding
Now need to also sort out some headstock stop locks
Long way to go yet and all the above bits will be tidied up during the final reassembly but pleased with the progress now, and project has made some great progress forward
Think that’s all for now folks
Catch up again soon
Best wishes Al
As once said we chose to build a hybrid not because it is easy. But because it is hard👍
