Is that crack caused by the heat of the welding making the nearby meta brittle?
Maybe you could get the swingarm normalised before use?

Yes, that's quite a concern. Surely it's not caused by the power/torque of the engine?

To be honest it was a bit of a surprise.
For me it means I just have to visually check the frame and not only the mechanicals.

Eek! Like said above, glad you spotted it now, and shows the value of being familiar with the bike and checking it over. My mate had a YammaGamma that had similar in the cradle, and also the rear shock mount. His were, I'm sure, down to not having the right spacers and shims made up. So when the engine, and shock, were torqued in place it forced the aluminium inwards, causing the breaks. Not saying that is the cause here, but it's one of the risks with older parts as you never know how they've been treated in the past. I hope you sort it OK. I love reading about your bikes.

Yes the chassis is fixed, Xmas time I will be opening the engine up for inspection. I need to check the hour counter but if I remember correctly it's got 33 running hours.
