Interesting money on that one
I was offered one in the same condition for less than half that about 6 months ago, hmmm perhaps I should have taken up the offer, but I would have needed to sell the LC2
It was one of funny sort of mid capacity bikes of the time, stuck between the 350 and 500,i don't think we got the RG400 here, pretty sure you had to be careful with the rear pot as it was prone to overheating, they are a sweet handling bike though
It wasn't the biggest seller and they come up from time to time mind you not in that condition or money though, still nice though

Prices for all the bigger strokers have gone crazy. Getting out of reach now.

I had two and one of my old bikes, in that scheme, is still on the road, somewhere, ive made a few attempts over the last decade to try and find it with no success. The NS is one all time fave bikes but no quicker than a F2 YPVS of the day, having ridden Mikes(kopite30) back to back with mine quite a bit, they certainly do handle and brake better than the RD, much more comfortable riding position too..Any of them is worth having but said, lot of money now, the NS in particular seemed to fetch around half of what an RG/RD500 did but they have certainly caught up in the last 12/18 months... ![](https://thumbsnap.com/s/u5OuN2iC.jpg)

Yea typical that sold my ns400 about two year ago struggled to get 4k for it ! okay it had a pattern fairing but it ran well and was low mileage, sort of wish id kept it and done the big bore conversion 480cc to get her going . Certainly a bit different anyway the only production v3 two stroke to be made?

The MVX250 predates the 400 by a year or two I think but I think DKW got their first with a 3 cylinder 2 stroke in the 1950s... Only thing that would put me off a NS400 would be parts, as said above they didnt sell many at all and when the gearbox went on mine in 1987, getting parts then was difficult, Mike has had his engine recently rebuilt and much of that proved difficult to obtain and only pattern items where available for much of it.

These were a looker and also typical of Honda at the time, a nicely finished bike. Has small flaps and covers for things that no one else seemed to do back then.
I was offered a really nice Rothmans imported from Japan for what now seems like silly cheap money about 8 years back and I often think I made a mistake not buying it. They are not easy to get parts for tho, that's what put me off :/

It’s one of the few Honda’s that I would have in my collection tbh, alongside my 400 Four but it would have to be in Rothmans colours.

Ha yes forgot about that mvx250 copper !! as mentioned though the bike was over engineered for a two stroke hence why it was alot heavier than a powervalve, thought it handled and stopped well enough compared to the stuff of the period though!

You have a 400-4? I really need to visit lol Alex That’s not the half of it Alex, there are 7 other classics tucked away in the lockup with it! The 400 Four is a two owner 75 F0 model, with a genuine 11,000 kms on the clock and is in original unrestored condition. It is too nice to restore, with just a few minor issues needing sorting out.

Always wanted one. They aren't too expensive really but some parts (like the original exhaust) are unobtanium!
