Just been in a bit of a day dream and for some reason I fancy a FZ750. I know Performance Bikes raced one in endurance events. Apparently as stock they are still a seriously quick bike and a pretty much bullet proof engine.
What do you want to get?

CBX 1000 Triumph T160 Trident, would probably be crap but I love the look of them especially in the red and white.
Had a couple of FZ750s and they are awesome. I would grab one now while they are still just about affordable, you won't regret it.

Just had a look. One FZ on evil bay. £750. 11 months MOT but a cosmetic wreck. What made me smile is it's about 5 miles away...and a quid per cc lol

Hi, Id like something really old, like pre war or before. Something like a Scott or Brough or Douglas or something like that. But until I win the lottery, I will have to make do with my old Villiers 2 stroke engines that I tinker with from time to time, the oldest one I have is just a few years shy of 100 years old. A TZ 750 or something of that ilk would be nice too, but Id be on my arse, or worse in no time on something like that. And I like the old big Zeds, but I have one of them that hasnt been on the road for a good few years, although I have owned it since it was four years old.... but while I was buying a new battery for my LC recently, I also bought one for my Zed. Can anyone recommend an old Zed forum that is as good as this forum is please ? Thanks, Steven.
Edit/PS.... I dont play the lottery. :-)

TBH the older the bike the more rose tinted the opinion and the worse the bike is. I bought a KH500 on a whim (about 25 years ago) spent a lot of money restoring it. Rode it about 3 times. It was cr@p
I had an FZ750 about 3 years ago. Great bike, big, comfy, lots of torque, but a heavy heavy beast. Paid £1500 for it, sold it for £1000
If it's cheap as chips it's going to be rubbish. Even if it's expensive for what it is like an RD125DX twin, it's still going to be a bit pants
You have to say the best and unique "classic" is an LC :-)

CBX1000, GSXR1100 original slabside, Velocette Venom Clubman - that'll do. Unfortunately do not have the funds though.

Not as desirable as ones already mentioned.
I would like a Fantic GT Super 6.
Ok not the quickest classic, but the type of roads I like, and the way they have to be ridden, without attracting too much attention appeals to me.
So if anyone hears or knows of a sound one for sale please send a pm.

I think I already have the ones I wanted. Got multiple LC projects, and 2 x Kwak 750 Turbos.... Anything else would probably not be ridden when an LC is waiting by the door of my garage.....

A H2 750 without baffles. Nothing else sounds like 'em. Riding them is another matter

I have always fancied a Z1 900 in the style of AC Sanctuary but that is out of reach so I bought a new Z900RS instead which is my daily ride.
My next project is an early GPZ900R which will be with me soon, once I have come to terms with selling one of my plackies……

It would be a Z1R Turbo for me, I rode one when I was an MOT tester, the guy always wound up the boost and kept blowing it up, but god did it go.....

I always fancied a nice big green Kawa Z1100R, with an unbelievably loud 4-1 pipe and a JMC arm on it........
