Pipes are the next thing.. Spoke to James at Alonze today, he's going to make me a set of pipes but not weld the rear bracket or stinger so I can get them fitting correctly for my yzf arm. I can bolt them up then tack the bracket and stinger to fit. Then I can get them TIGed up locally.

Engine well on its way, the clutch basket was knackered but I had another basket but gear numbers didn't sum up. Split the basket and got some rivets, took it to a local engineering spot for them to press the rivets....got a phone call a couple of days later..."sorry we've dropped it and snapped 2 arms off it" FFS Anyway there going to pay so I've ordered a mikita billet unit and new rubbers 😁

Bit of a work in progress as I'm waiting for my headlight brackets to arrive so I can finalise it.... I'm i right in thinking your "D" tab is for the headlight mount?

So on the the clock bracket, I found some ally plate I've had kicking about for years so used that for the bracket. When I was mocking it up, I wasn't feeling it with the standard MT bar clamps, they just seemed too chunky with my clock mounted fairly low so I had a look (again) in my stash and found a set of drag bars and risers I was going to use on my vmax but never did.. These clamps seem to look better to me even though there not for 28mm fatbars. Looks more balanced in my humble opinion. So the bars and clocks are now mounted but nothing wired up yet ! Painted the switchgear and got a decal kit for them so next job is to build them up and I've got a clutch perch/lever coming. Using the standard yzf 125 MC so Hopfully I should have the controls sorted at the weekend....

I've got the koso clocks, banshee coils and the ignitech wired up with some great advice from Steve (midlifecrisis) Next job is cutting the clutch window so I can fit a lexan cover, then I can fit it and kick it over to see if I have a spark ! Swopped the drag bars for some low rise, still now sure about the angle, might go for some original 31k bars as their narrower and more sweep, dunno yet... Fitted some small led indicators and ordered a led relay so hopefully I can get them to flash!!

Bike is looking really good. You must be well chuffed with how it is looking. Does that laquer work on ally as well do you know?

Had a spare few hours today so been looking at the gear shaft, linkage etc. There was some play on the gear shaft, I really should have replaced the bush while the motor was apart...of well, next time ! Seen the ally Bush's that are on ebay for £30 so thought I'd have a go at making one. I made up a ally spacer so the seal is on a different part of the shaft. I also knocked out a spare steel bush from a old bottom case. I made it so I've kept the original bush in the case but knocked it in 5mm with the new bush so now I've got 30mm of steel bush for the shaft to run in. New oil seal fitted and the nylon chain guard turned down to compensate for the extra spacer. No play on the shaft now so just need to get some gearbox oil and see if it leaks !!!

Engine filled with oil and no leaks so Hopfully that's the gear shaft sorted, on to the side stand... Andy748 very kindly donated a triumph stand so I set about sorting that. The frame hole was pretty oval after years of wear so I welded in a new sleeve and also built it up with weld to match the wider triumph stand and built up the stand stops to match the stand. All seems good now with room for my foot to change gear. I also machined up some 12mm spacers for the footpegs to help with clearance with the pipes. Had a dogleg gear spline clamp kicking about from my mt10 so fitted that to get the gear change linkage all square So with a bit of luck that's the pegs sorted......

Very classy. Love the way you have overcome the problems yet kept everything 'clean' looking.
