Putting bits back together now and find the hanger that supports the grabrail, rear cowl and reg/indicators is too wide for the sub-frame. This is the hanger concerned:
First of all, I presume I'm picking the correct mounting points for this hanger on the sub-frame (the last hole in the sub frame and the one down before the seat release mech):
Now the following two snaps show each side, with me offering up the hanger - there's a about a 10-15mm gap on both sides. What-the? Am I missing something obvious here? Was there originally spacers in between? The bolts that came off seem way too long and don't fit!
I am presuming the hanger isn't meant to be screwed in against it's shape. Any help....please?!!!!

No spacers are used, it just bolts to the frame. Why not try bolting it all together, fitting the tail cowl and grab rail and see how it is then ? If everything lines up as it should, then it's all good. I have had them where there is a gap each side - doesn't matter as long as they are not bent and everything fits. These parts are over 35 years old now, so expect some "baggyness" !! Dusty

Cheers Dusty! Much appreciated. Think I got myself in a bit of a tizz. I've just found some photos I took of the dismantling so that together with your advice should help.
