Managed to get a throttle cable fitted at last. Fitted elbows and thin locknuts to allow the extra distance to shut the slides Tried a genuine lc throttle cable but was too short with the billet manifold and wider bars Ended up using a 29l lc2 one which fits prefect Steve

Now the switchgear, front master and clutch lever/cable Front master is Brembo fz09 with Chinese levers. I had a few sets of various models but could only find a black set so did a bit of mix and match to get it to match the lc blue clutch lever. Turns out they are all interchangeable Struggled to get a good fitting clutch cable. Wanted genuine for light action. I had lc2 and a 5a8 but way long so took a punt on a 51l f1 cable and it is perfect I had to grind back the perch to allow the adjuster to thread in more to get free play but probably down to the mix and match of billet lever, if perch and ypvs cable Steve

Hi mate I had a busy week catching up on work and errands after being away last week, so I will get them sorted next week for you. Didn't help that I haven't got a big enough box for them so I need to pop to the Lok n store too, to get one. Will probably be midweek before I can get it sorted due to work commitments. I've got the same carbs and weren't sure if they from another model of bike, so good to know. I may ask about jetting etc when I build the cafΓ© racer as my set up will be roughly the same Cheers Dusty

Base jetting is 42 pilot, 155 mains and n68 needles It will be going on mutts dyno so will see how far out it is Steve

Hi mate No, they are still here They are sat by the shed door waiting for me to pull my finger out !! Be good to hear how the dyno runs go. I'm a long way from that point but it would be nice to build the carbs up so they are somewhere close to optimum. Although the bike will end up with Guru Dave anyhow so he can "work his magic" Dusty

Been a bit difficult now that my vision is playing up π The pipe clips finally arrived so clipped the oil feed line and ran the coolant line to the expansion tank Fitted the front brake lines and the rear brake switch and res tubing. Need to wait till the rear caliper bracket is ready to get a brake line measurement Also tackled the Ignitech. It took 2 days as my sight makes it difficult and also gives me headaches but just the 12v+ and the 0v- left. Can't do that just now as got no eyelet crimps (ordered this morning) and the bike ideally need turned around but the decking is icy so unless Torvell and Dean are coming round it ain't getting done today Steve

Rear brake line arrived but in typical style I've changed the route an the master cylinder so now need a 90 degree elbow. Fitted the rd400 kickstart and filled with oil and water Repainted the rear caliper and fitted the cut up the hugger to make it less mahoosive Steve

That's looking awesome Steve Your mate is gonna be a lucky boy when that gets delivered !! Are the rearsets NK ? Dusty Yes they are nk's, lovely bit of engineering. The guy it's for hasn't seen it in the flesh yet. Only seen a pic of the rolling chassis, one of the painted bodywork and the one I posted showing the finished rear end. I've only met him twice π I took it on as I'd never done an lc before so fancied the challenge but not the parts bill π Steve

Stuck some 2 stroke oil in it and primed the pump Only things stopping me starting it are I need to solder the Ignitech +12v into the loom beside the fuse box and waiting on the longer pv cables getting made so I can mount the servo and connect it all up The 90 Β° banjo for the rear master arrived so got that fitted and connected up the brake light pressure switch I looped the line downward then up just behind the pivot of the arm then followed the original route. This was to allow a flexing point. If the line goes straight to the master it kinks upward at the master cylinder as the suspension moves Also fitted the rear indicator mini indicator bracket. Steve
