The temp sender out of my 250LC is as shown here (the broken one), hence I bought the new one. Although the threads appear to be the same, as you can see they're different. The new one doesn't want to thread all the way in and with the head being as soft as it is, I don't want to force it. Does anyone know if there are different senders for the different models? My bike is, like many, a hybrid of 250/350/YPVS. I have a 250 4LO engine.

The newer senders have a tapered thread
A bit of silicone on the threads and tighten till it nips up
Don't try and thread it all the way in

Steve means silicone sealant (I think). You can also use ptfe tape or a loctite sealant as alternatives but as Steve said do not force it in too deep.
