The start of the breakdown, engine out Frame almost ready for powdercoating First time I've ever seen the inside of a gearbox First time I've ever looked closely at a crankshaft i19.photobucket.com/albums/b193/GraemeB/IMG_2567.jpg[/IMG]Cleaning up the cases i19.photobucket.com/albums/b193/GraemeB/IMG_2543.jpgEngine out and on the bench[/IMG] Starting the rebuild, frame powder coated, they did a very nice job. Engine in at last Pipes on and carbs in, they cleaned up quite nicely. Now I have the electrics done, seat recovered, all the oil pipes ready. I need to change the wheels as the old pirelli's have seen better days. The tank, side panels front mudguard and rear piece are due back from the body shop next week. This is the first time I've ever attempted anything like this and it's been a real challenge, thank goodness for websites like this one, and the rd/rz site and suppliers like Norbo and Yambits. Cheers. Canucklehead

I'm not sure why the pictures didn't load properly, must be something I did wrong.

I had no problem viewing the photos. Great job you are doing By the way, I don't know where you go fishing, but that's one hell of a catch

Managed to get the paintwork done locally, didn't turn out too bad. Left view Left close up Right side. Now I need to get the motor running well, it started after three kicks first time, but I have a slightly leaky head gasket I think, so I'llheat cycle it a couple more times and torque it up a bit when cold. Then I need to redo the wheels and probably put new rubber on it, then off to the highways and byways of Beautiful British Columbia to lay some serious smoke.

I nipped it up last year in September after a small mishap with a black bear on the Spences Bridge road, once I decided to re-do it rather than part it out it has taken me since November to get it to this point but I can only work on it one evening a week. My buddy has a 2 stroke 500, a daytona 400 and three LC350's so he's been a great knowledge help but I did all the actual work myself. This was my first attempt at a full restoration, previously I've just bought bikes and titivated them up and flogged them again, this one is different. Thanks for the nice compliments, once it's out on the road I'll post a few more pics. Canucklehead
