so a while ago I bought an Aprilia RS250 (wth a 421 lump in it), anyway, it was looking a little hard done by, this is how I got it So I stripped off its clothes and set about sorting out what needed to be done, so undressed The wiring was shocking and in poor shape, as was a good number of other stuff, plus it was running on premix, so that needed to be sorted, so first job was out with the motor, and move it slightly to better balance it, next was fit new clutch cover and convert to oil pump Next I started on the electrics and started to relocate parts and start making a wiring loom for it At the same time I had an oil tank made (no photo's yet - sorry) and started on fixing the fairing to it Next was to sort out some exhausts, I wanted twin exhausts, one either side, so had them made by Jim to my 421 spec, the bike was doing 83bhp when I got it, I got it up to 88bhp as it was after some fettling, but I was aiming to make it a load better than that, anyway got the bike back with the exhausts made and Jim had done a nice surprise for me and painted the tank satin black and put my name on it - class job, he also did the pin stripes, well pleased with it Next I started on fitting the dash and finishing the electrics off, along with fitting an M unit Once all of that was done, it was make some silencers and put it on the dyno for setting it Managed to get it to do a healthy 97+bhp, still more to come as not fitted an iggy or PD kit yet, plus a few tweaks I have in mind, not too shabby though Still lots to do including finishing the electrics etc off and a myriad of other jobs I want to do to it before fully stripping it and doing it up properly, but for now, its ok

currently tops out at 130mph (you have some idea how fast as it passed it you at Donnington on full chat !! ), but got some new gearing for it, which will allow it to do 178mph if I am brave enough !! oh yeah, forgot to say i fitted a close ratio box as well while the motor was out, funny the things you forget you did, same for the clutch etc, all new etc, lots done and no photo's, oh well ! and I also fitted a new YSS rear shocker to it as well !

That is a thing of beauty Dave!
The wiring is exceptional, normally wiring scares me and i want to hide it under panels but that is good enough to have on show!

Looking good so far, didn't realise there was so much room in the frame for the PV engine until I saw your pics. Whats the elec box in the pics with the connector strips on (assuming the battery has the red top)

That is the M unit, brilliant bit of kit, or it is when its fully wired up anyway ! Thanks, just googled it, clever piece of kit if you're going for different switchgear. Why are you using a Zeel with this (or did it come with it) thought you preferred the ignitech models
