The tank/seat unit really suits the ‘tiddler’ build mate!. Making good progress 👍🏻🏍🤗

Cheers Bezzer I will need to cut the frame back a bit at the rear but that's not an issue. I will have to brace the headstock a tad though!

I do. To be fair to him his wife has just had a baby and he did reply straight away to the eBay resolution. But that barrel is shocking, never seen such a crap one.

Hi mate That's looking really good :)The seat and tank combo really suit each other and gives a classic café racer "look". If you are gonna chop the rear frame anyway, have you seen the rear loops that have the LED lights fitted ? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-CAFE-RACER-STEEL-SEAT-HOOP-WITH-LED-STOP-TAIL-LIGHTS-AND-INDICATORS/222743355586?hash=item33dc89e0c2Seen them fitted with your style of seat and that look really neat and unobtrusive - leaving the rear end "uncluttered" is really key with these builds. Just search "café racer" parts on ebay and there's lots of goodies that you could use or get ideas from. Dusty

Damn that is really trick. I have added it to my watch list along with a ton of stuff I can't afford but might be able to replicate. That thing I'd have to buy but yes that would look great. I want to leave the seat as is and was wondering about a rear light. Thanks Dusty!

Found a nut.
Had a chat and will use an RD125LC Banshee coil for a decent fat spark.
Carb options are a few, maybe a DT80 one.
Exhaust...no idea.
She'll be day time MOT only for now so less wiring! Need a horn but a simple squeezy one will do.
The law says no brake light is needed but the law is an ass and I will have one.
No side panels, battery will be on show for the time being.
Pinching some of Elsie's gear (just for the moment) to get the bike MOT'd. Rear sets, clocks etc.
Only thing I now need is a head. The barrel will get welded as the seller is not responding to my emails. EBay are looking into this, and that tank too.
I think that covers it all. The last thing to get done will be that petrol tank and then it's book the MOT time.

Oh nice one mate. Just sold something on eBay for a lot less than I thought it would go for, but these things happen. Just bought a head and that coil off Norbo. I have everything else I need now to get the bike going. No I don't! Need a battery. Can I use a 12v? The RD125LC is 12v so will this coil work? Oh oh... Dammit more problems! Alex

Is it a 6v or 12v system ? Any spares I have will be 12v. Dusty

Yea, bloody hot today. Heathrow hit 35 degrees - hottest day so far this year and hotter tomorrow !! Needless to say I didn't spend any time in the shed !! What battles are you having with the barrel ? And is there a reason for not using an Lc shock absorber ? Dusty

Oh I will be using the 350LC one but that's with the frame at the welder's who is on holiday until monday! But eventually that will have to go back onto Elsie so I needed to see what spacers fit what if that makes any sense...will probably end up getting another 350LC shock and restoring that so both bikes have the same. The barrel...I hate piston rings at the best of times . They either go straight on or I have hours of swearing ahead of me...yes they are lined up with the little spaces on the piston but at the moment it's Barrel 1 Alex 0. However this was after working on the truck outside and in that heat. I was a bit pooped. Some parts were here when I got home, a couple of cables and a plug (genuine) and cap. Some neighbour has the cylinder head but all the courier said was 'left with a neighbour'. Spiffing as I have about 40... Realised I also need a 6v ignition, seen one and will wait till funds dictate on that! Still need a carb an exhaust and summat else...forget what now! Alex

An RD80LC/RD125LC rear shock (10W?) should also fit, but are slightly longer. I might have a used one available....

If you do have one I am very interested! The 350 one won't fit into the frame mounting as it's too fat!

Popsicle purple Bezzer. I am going to mimic an early FS1-E style, albeit with a modern 'tweak' lol.
