Mine are ypvs hybrids,I have always run 160/60x17 rears&120/70x17 fronts. I run d.i.d X-ring chains. Can’t remember what off-set front sprocket I have on them. I have the same clearances frame side as tyre side. No sign of chain touching at all. I built a LC hybrid a few years ago and ran that with a 160/60x17 rear, ypvs engine and again no problem, close but ok. Sold it to a forum member(rwebster)I think. You can get a narrow 520 x-ring chain. DID 520 VT2 x-ring,they narrower than std. Also not all 160/60 tyres are the same overall width. I run Michelin pilot power 2ct.
Got some yoshi rear sets for it it’s off the bench at the moment as I’ve undertaken a couple of other projects, but Mutts is building me the engine as soon as I can get the cases to him. Hopefully get stuck back into it soon.
Now that the mahoosive conservatory I’ve been building is finished its time to get this back on track, so myself and Bri are having an hour or 2 in the cave tonight, progress on the rear set mounting. Time to start tacking them up, more to follow
1st Tig and rub down now whip some unwanted lugs off back to Bri’s tonight for some more welding then throw it back together and ready for a trip to Mutts when the engine is ready for the exhausts making and then a rolling road sesh.
looking good russ, bit of delay on the engine, still no casings back as the vapour blaster has broken down or summat, hopefully get them back next week, then full steam ahead with the engine build.......
Hardly the best pics but a tease all the same The brief was, match the tune of the engine build, go through the old monoshock hole and come out under the seat like a cbr600 as 1 end can and make them stainless. A metre was required to match the tune so they’re motorcross style at the front, which I like a lot as I don’t do normal. Will suit my build beautifully. Will be a while before any more updates I’ve slipped a disc and in bloody agony!
Wow, those pipes look fantastic This is gonna be a stunning special. Sorry to hear about your back. Find yourself a good Osteopath - sooner rather than later. Don't rely on the NHS pain clinics, which is where I ended up. A few sessions with an Osteo will see you back on your feet far sooner. Good luck.
