Considering changing the cylinder head studs out for stainless allen bolts, is this feasible or do they need to be high tensile. M8x50mm fit exactly if anyone interested.

Allen screws/bolts are usually 10.9 grade which is higher but a tw💩T to drill if anything goes wrong imo

Stainless has more ductility and so is more likely to stretch and make the head come loose. Also repeatedly screwing in and out of the aluminium case threads will more likely strip them than a fixed stud. Jon

You’d be better with chromed steel nuts.
I’d be less worried about stainless nuts than studs though.
If you do use stainless keep an eye on the torque setting. If you keep having to nip them up you’ll have your answer.
Possibly less strain on a smaller motor, so should get away with it more.
