en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_of_1946%E2%80%9347_in_the_United_KingdomJust seen people waiting to collect their kids early from school on the idiot box........not enough snow to make a f**king snowball on the deck. Fooking joke...... You take your time, making steady progress on the roads.......and the brainless lemmings are still flying past trying to wrap themselves round a lamp post....the same as they do in dense fog.

Its been crazy in my village . being a small village we dont get any snow ploughs or gritters in and with the cars compacting the snow all roads are like a skating rings . I went out yesterday and cleared my drive and the bit of the road at the bottom then gritted it so its the only clear bit on my holl road . In years past i would clear my complete road and a good bit of the road leading to it and grit it all . but i put my back out a few days back so i have my brace on now and just cant do it . It was a push to do my drive looked like a crab quoting down so i dont have to bend my back LOL must have looked funny .

Now on day 3
Spent 4 hours, yes 4! clearing just my 2 car drive
15-18 inches genuinely
Absolutely no chance of getting the car out, only proper 4x4's are getting up the hill
It's deeper that the ground clearance on the cars so not even getting packed down
Still below freezing so the salt ain't working.
Unless a plough comes down we can't make it to the main road
Steve

Funny Jon that you guys on the east coast have sweltered, we haven't had any 40's in Perth at all
Up in Karratha and Pt Hedland its been relatively speaking "cool" at 36-37 instead of the 45-50's we normally get at this time of year, although the humidity is up there at 80% which makes things ugly
I trust our friends in the UK will come out of the deep freeze in one piece

My Inlaws married in 1963 today and the weather was snowing, so had a nostalgic anniversary !
Oh yeah and their heating packed up and had to put the hairdryer on the condensing pipe or whatever it's called !

Oh yeah and their heating packed up and had to put the hairdryer on the condensing pipe or whatever it's called ! Just had to do mine. Stupid bloody system, only in the UK, due to some daft law or other, everywhere else they drip the condensate onto the hot exhaust & it goes off as steam. tried to buy the kit for mine, but won't sell to the UK. At least the snow has cleared a bit & I can get out of the village.

The problem with the condensate pipes are run outside to drain into a gutter or down pipe Ideally they are supposed to be ran inside the house into a drain Steve

Too much snow this year, reached the bottom of the pipe.....

My boss just emailed me saying I know there is a red warning but if you stick to the main roads and take a shovel you’ll be ok ,I’m a heating engineer doing breakdowns in people’s houses I hope they are on the main roads Believe it’s illegal to drive if it’s red warning. Insurance is invalid I believe. That’s what ya Glasgow lads were told 😬

I have no idea we were called up and said no work as driving in red warning weather invalidated our insurance. I walked LOL

No .. Not yet anyway , they have featured a few different councils but never Fife, they concentrate on the places that get bad snow every year, this doesnt happen here every year.
