So I now have a disc fitted, can't find a 84mm centre but with a bit of modification I sorted it. So the first problem, you can see the hub! looks f-ugly! kh4URHgZSNyvwXhtxHBf9Q by Philip Millard, on Flickr Need to make a thin blank to hide it I think. Next problem seems to be alignment, Have I got something wrong? its miles out, no way to line up the calliper and pads, anybody got a pic of their set up they could show me please, I'm sure I must have something out of place. hhHlZzavT9eu1MlqcNndlA by Philip Millard, on Flickr 9K9diCpcTD6D%yU7e1SRnw by Philip Millard, on Flickr

The problem with the disc spacing is the gsxr disc sits 5mm further out so you either need to mod the existing bracket (not sure if it can be) or custom made bracket which was the route I took
I bought a plate of 10mm alloy then used the rgv bracket to mark up the spindle and bolt hole centres and drew round it before getting it cut out and spacers made to centre it.
If I ever get round to it I keep meaning to take it off and get some made up

That makes sense Steve, I wonder if I can just machine down the alloy RGV unit, I have two... I'll have a look at the options.

I just had another look at this, I assume its 5mm I'm looking for? on that basis I can machine out the slot for the swinging arm so its open, then mill 5mm off the part where the spindle goes through and make a 5mm longer spacer, Any reason that won't work Steve?? I can just modify the mounting plate I got from you!

I worried the carrier would be too weak if you milled the slot open
Don't know if a plate can be welded on to reinforce it

looking very nice Phil , how did you get over the rear disc/caliper bothers in the end mart I'm using a GSXR400 rear wheel, hence the issue, luckily its been done before so was able to get the correct measurements, (thanks Steve) it needed 5mm to come off the calliper mount and a different spacer, came out perfect in the end.

Here is the point were i think it is over the top. These fasteners are under the tank. No body will ever notice these fasteners. I think this is the point were a poor mans jobs end. On the other hand i admire your drive to perfection. 😬

Each to their own choice, I would never put old screws in somewhere just because they can't been seen! Personal pride in the job I guess.

Well a bit more progress, I got the new valve bits from Norbo, decided to replace it all, forgot to order the valves connector though, so waiting on that now.
Is there a trick to getting the castle seal in on the L/H side, I'm worried about damaging the seal inner face when forcing it in.

Fancy grease...... No! just lots of two stroke oil as I built the valves, they are super smooth and free. So does the grease last?

Thanks, I'll talk to Mutts, he arranged the porting work etc so he'll be the man to talk to. No heads not on yet and barrels only loosely bolted down.
