So I thought after all the questions I keep posting I'd best start showing my efforts as as few bits start to come together, it'll be a fairly long process but I'll post as things are worth posting, as we know, the costs can really start racking up, and as I have two other unfinished projects I'm going to spread my bike funds between them for a bit. The plan is to get the 31k as a rolling chassis quickly. So some of you will have seen this that Fozzy had for sale a while, I eventually managed to sort myself out and buy it (thanks for being patient Fozzy!) IMG_20180110_201637_915 by Philip Millard, on Flickr I got it home and having fired it up and made sure all seems ok I rapidly stripped it, finding the first of my problems in the process, the rear of the frame was chopped off along with all the fixing brackets, luckily this fantastic forum and its members got me sorted by getting me all the bits I needed the next problem was getting the flywheel off, god that was a pain but with the help of my trusty angle grinder it ended up coming off in bits. the engine is stripped and is going to need a bit of work, although the crank seems good its off to PJME to have a good check and at least a set of main bearings, the cases are away being vapour blasted and the shopping list is getting bigger. fgX%ugeeSr6NHu29ZoyD8g by Philip Millard, on Flickr So I now have a set of RGV forks, I ended up with a nice set of VJ23 forks, fully adjustable which should be good, I also got a Banana arm (thanks Howard) which is now alway being prepped and then following a final check it'll get powder coated, the yokes are away with NK being modded too. Actually I got all excited when I got a message saying my delivery from NK Racing would be delivered Friday, I thought I'd be building loads this weekend but as it turned out only the swinging arm kit came! I have got the frame back so I started doing a few bits, just couldn't resist. A few goodies fitted, I have dome my best with the horrible tatty loom and got that on this weekend, I'm not totally sure it in the right place, Mr Honda in all his wisdom puts a white band around the loom so you have a reference point, I took photos of the loom when I took it off so can only hope it was on correctly, anybody know different having seen my pics please let me know GWm+7iQRQY+A7GBLhe0pIw by Philip Millard, on Flickr %yJO%PbZRiiR4bd%3Iyf2Q by Philip Millard, on Flickr XGN11PXWQCacRyxxhNlqIQ by Philip Millard, on Flickr XFKaWoLXTiqWnFYeJRrYjg by Philip Millard, on Flickr YO%TsmlcQo2JiSu8tZzTsQ by Philip Millard, on Flickr

One other thing, I did post this but didn't get a definitive answer, why cant the centre stand be used with the NK kit, I realise there is a bolt going through the centre stand pivot but if a pair of spacers were made the bolt could go through them and still fix the lower pivot point and have the centre stand, just my thoughts and happy to be put in my place by people more qualified than me Phil 3dinXe8KSVege6cXv4Hxbw by Philip Millard, on Flickr

Making good progress there
If the loom is lc2 it should exit between the frame and radiator and loop under the bottom yoke into the headlight bowl

Like it...glad to see photos of where the wiring loom goes....I took photos of mine but can't seem to find them at the minute!! Keep up the good work! What colour did you do the frame? I had mine done in RAL 3020 (nearest colour I could find), and it looks almost identical to yours under indoor light.

Hi Rob, yes, 3020 i went for. Now need to decide what colour to do the swinging arm, I'm not keen on the Banana arm so may do it black so its less "in your face"

I nearly went for the bike myself, I did my RGV swinger in satin black on my old 4lo hybrid and it looked great.

Well having been away at work for a month I've got back and found just a few bits waiting for me, the wife is starting to ask questions.... LHfFLEw9RiW5BLktJxeoYw by Philip Millard, on Flickr that little lot was waiting for me in the garage, and she had to put it all out there so no hiding from that. I've done a few bits more, need to sort a rear shock yet, I did take a chance and bought one from a 1400 mile MT07, same length, and according to the web it had the same bottom fork width, but no, its too narrow, oh well, it only cost £21.50! tIyo7I87S0GbRCAmJ7DEKQ by Philip Millard, on Flickr PdjZTr%QRWasQgcv5PiTIA by Philip Millard, on Flickr FvhbHzDQRSOuiW7S8NbRog by Philip Millard, on Flickr And before anybody notices, yes I need to change the connectors on the rear lamp wiring.

So its been a few nice days to get out in the garage, bits coming together nicely. its taking shape nicely. I stripped the switches and did those, shame the font on the stickers and the original font on Horn button don't match. C8svD+O7R9aeXIlaBcguzQ by Philip Millard, on Flickr WdY+3WcXQy6eDdTAGQjOJw by Philip Millard, on Flickr I fitted the swinging arm also today, and top yoke and bars. tyres should get fitted this week too. I'll see how they look in place and decide. Vr6FiSWMQ%ORYnswnD6EMw by Philip Millard, on Flickr Hopefully on its wheels soon, just got to sort the rear shock.

Not much done today, too hot in the garage. I did manage to rebuild the switchgear though, looks a bit better than it did. Oh and hit a brick wall with Rear disc, I read somewhere on here somebody having similar issues, disc for RGV and GSXR400 doesn't fit comes with 81MM centre and mine is 84. Ring any bells? and if so how did you get around it. 2LNmM8daRiCz1AZH6mPIzg by Philip Millard, on Flickr

I've had to get a disc machined out but I have gad another 2 that fit
If you look through eBay a lot of the seller's give the sizes
Also some advertise fitment to rgv and gsxr.
I bought one and it as you say was too small. I complained and they sent the correct fitment and told me to keep the other (which I had machined out)

Well I had a good day today, a few teething problems, but hey, she's looking more like a bike now. I'm happy with the results so far, I guess that all the matters. 5PNsyZ84TTifHr3ID+OYOA by Philip Millard, on Flickr I need to figure out the spacing on the rear wheel, I have too much slack, or I'm missing a spacer, I remember the issues as documented on here with GSXR400 wheels, but I thought they were too wide, hence the custom made calliper bracket. Once I get a disc that fits I can figure out whats what, I may wends up fitting the RGV inner spacer as it 2mm longer.\ ywk6MNLjRJKJa2fhe2ABQg by Philip Millard, on Flickr 70zG2252RW+yLcoG80qJ2Q by Philip Millard, on Flickr 3cgT90RRSOeRvQNeWEAInQ by Philip Millard, on Flickr oN4WyAzERciWi0FkdbHknA by Philip Millard, on Flickr Once I sort a rear shock it will be truly a rolling chassis, I can then start on the engine.
