Hi Guys My Dad is turning the big 60 and I wanted to buy him an Rd. He had one back when he was my age so I thought it would be a nice suprise. I ride myself but I have a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja and am therefore lost when it comes to these 80's 2 strokes. Im looking for any buying advise you have. In particular i'm looking at a 1987 Swiss Import Rd125Lc. Does anyone know why this model didnt have the nose fairing of other models I see?

some models came without the nosecone. Also, when you drop an RD usually the first thing to break is the nose cone/nose cone mounts.
Any reason you fancy the YPVS model? The 12a/10w are easier to work on in my experience (not much!)

Nice thought ethanr, can't help you with the actual bike, just a thought about handlebars verses clip ons, could your dad cope with the position?
No point buying him a bike that's too uncomfortable for him to ride, that's what I'm thinking.

People just took the fairings of they all cxame with them and some one has converted the clips on to cow bars on this bike for a more sit up position
