When you get your wheels back from the painter and hurry them to have tyres fitted, Collect them and with the excitement you turn into a neanderthal with a Rock smashing your Disc bolts in!! Snapped one bolt in the wheel.. GUTTED!!!! I did the same but was lucky it didn’t snap but I did think I was going to ruin the fresh powder

I think easy outs make them tighter it just spreads the stud/bolt material unless it’s slack of course

Stainless into ally,
I've sent it off to a local engineering firm as i don't want to risk the hours of labour polishing and prepping the wheels for 2k paint.

Mark I really like how you've executed this build. It's going to be a top bike when it's finished.

Still can not decide on the colour tho... Leaning toward a dark candy red just to tie in with the reservoir pots, IMG_3638 by mark morgan, on Flickr

Looking awesome Mark - great attention to detail Why not look at some lighter colour paint schemes ? There is a lot of black on the bike, and I think a brighter colour may work well. Ford do a nice "Tangerine Scream" on some of their ST range - sort of a cross between yellow and orange With the right colour decals it could look really striking and "different". If I ever built another Lc hybrid it's a colour I would like to do. I did consider the Ford lime green for my Lc hybrid originally but thought it more a Kawasaki colour, so went with "Electric Orange" instead, and that works well with black wheels and frame I think, plus the polished parts. Dusty Thanks dusty.. TBH i am not a fan of Yellow.. Yellow reminds me of my mates old Suzuki TS125 when we were 17 I am leaning towards Mc Laren's Tornado red, It's a candy colour so can look dark but has a large shade spectrum if that's the correct term.. 2018_mclaren_720s_memphis_red-HD by mark morgan, on Flickr IMG_4064 by mark morgan, on Flickr IMG_4065 by mark morgan, on Flickr I was also thinking about Lamborghini Verde Ithaca but as you say green is a kawasaki Colour really..

There was a guy with an aircooled 250 with 350 ac top end on the aircooled forum, that had his bike in a red that wasn't too far off the McClaren red. I will see if I can find a pic. It will be nice to see a different paint scheme on a hybrid Dusty

Yesterday the long and i mean LONG awaited wiring loom arrived in the post.. Well it could have been there for days as there was no card or anything in the post box. Parcel was just dumped behind a plant pot and was only discovered by the misses while doing the gardening.. So that evening i set about fitting my new plug and play wiring loom as she was working! Result!! What seemed like a simple job routing the loom trying to remember where everything went even tho i had taken loads of photos you never seem to take a photo of what you actually need to see!! With all of the blocks that could be connected were connected it was time to fit the battery (Flat) oh well it will have enough charge fire up the ignition I thought.. NOPE Sweat FA!! of to the garage to grab the charger and make a brew while it gets some juice into it.. Still Nothing.. completely dead even with the charger on it.. Back down to the garage for the test light... No power at the main loom in the head light. OK check fuses, Battery had power and power at the fuse box?? IMG_4071 by mark morgan, on Flickr It wasn't until i pulled the main loom connection box apart did i notice this... IMG_4070 by mark morgan, on Flickr It seem to be wired up the same as the ignition block.. Brand new lock set inc ignition from norbo and a brand new LC club loom... I think i am lucky that after 4-6 months of waiting for my loom it didn't go up in smoke!! Friday the 13th!!! Loom all hidden as much as possible IMG_4073 by mark morgan, on Flickr IMG_4074 by mark morgan, on Flickr

Is it the loom that is wrong or the ignition switch ?

Have a look at the Mazda 3 Soul Red Crystal, a stunning colour in the flesh, a work mate has one and quite a few people have commented on the colour.

Looking awesome Mark The Chinese rads are ok - I've had a few and they've been alright for the money, but the GMX rads from Martin are absolutely top quality, and although 4x the price of the ebay rads, I think it's money well spent. Got them on both of mine and really happy with them. He does a nice rad guard for them too, which isn't too bulky and has decent sized mesh for good air flow Dusty

I'm not sure what to do with the rad.. either cut the Wings off and polish Standard style rad guard or Rentech type.. I guess when i have made my mind up on colour i might know what to do with the small details

Small error made, Bored out the Coil bracket bolt holes so the bolt head size matched but now the M6 nuts are hitting the Frame mounts... IMG_4276 by mark morgan, on Flickr IMG_4275 by mark morgan, on Flickr I used two Horn winging connectors with the nice rubber boot for the coil pickups.. Will I have to change the wires for large diameter? I guess they connect together as they fire together as there is only two wires on the coil loom? I'm crap with electrics!!

Martin's rad guard comes in bare metal. I had it powdercoated black, and then lightly polished the rad; 20190819_202651 by dusty miller, on Flickr The Rentec guards look good too but are a bit bulkier, and the mesh will be a bit more restrictive. Mine has slotted rather than round holes which is better I think; 20190515_175118 by dusty miller, on Flickr Hth Dusty
