Very much sad news, dont know what to say more.
I've just read on TDR forum about the link to Norbo's FB post about the stolen bikes.
So I got an idea and a (I hope) little help from my side .. I just posted a link of Norbo's FB post about stolen bikes on Yamaha IT/YZ/WR/DT forum.
I hope those Mofo's (who has stolen these bikes) will be found by some biker vigilante first (before the police).

Just about to say have you done house to house etc? Called the police as above, would of taken a van to move them, narrows it down. Also going to say are their any anpr cameras nearby on that main road? Also isn’t there a petrol station up the road? Forecourt cctv could be checked within time frames noting any van vrm if possible, potentially they stopped before coming to your home, what time frame are you talking about? Guessing middle of the night normally 12.30 ish to 5.30 ish. Called the pigs the second i got back in the house incident number 187-25 11 2017 and call 101 if you see anything do this befor you contack me with anything you may see . But yes your right less then useless . they wouldn't even come out to see me talk to neighbors they wont go to auto jumbles look at any cctv for surrounding towns to see if any any passed early hours . They just whant them to turn up and call me . So yes i went out and spoke to every one on the road and the road at the bottom om my road to see if the heard anything and at what time did they hear van pulling of . its up to me and every one i kknow to keep an eye open for the bikes and the parts they say they dont have the resources to do any investigating or look in to it at all. But they are added to the dater back and they now have picturs of both bikes and will keep an eye open in the surrounding villages and towns. so what t hey mean is they have made not of it and they will be doing f**k all until something falls in to there lap.

Sooner or later these bikes or bits of will surface, and I'm pretty sure the LC community will pick up on it...my only hope is the tossers that have done this will realise that they have some hot potatoes and put them somewhere to be found and reunited with you guys.... keep this thread alive and hopefully it will stay in people's mind until they are home...

It does worry me how like you said, that you are just left on your own regarding the Police
The feckers would have been round to arrest you if you had battered the scumbags with a baseball bat !

Very true, police have been cut back to the bone resource wise, but as you say, if you touch the thieving scum, they soon have the time to investigate as its easy pickings for their data score ....

The other worrying thing is that when the thieves realise it's not gonna be easy to offload the bikes due to the coverage they are getting on the net, they will destroy them. I cant imagine they will want to store them until a bit of time goes by, so they may feel their best option is to dump them and torch them. I hate to say that, but I have been to loads of stolen bikes that have been dumped and set alight to destroy any evidence the thieves may have left. I used to work in an area that was very "busy" for stolen car and bike fires and it was a fairly regular occurrence As annoying as it may seem, the offer of a reward - no questions asked - for the safe return of the bikes may be an option you want to explore. It may be your best chance of getting them back. The Police will know who the local bike stealing toe rags are, and the thieves wont want them in their possession for too long so the dumping option nay be the only option for them. It only takes a mate of a mate to make a phone call to hopefully give you a lead. And unfortunately, stolen bikes are down the list when it comes to Policing, but I don't blame the front line guys for that. I've known a few coppers over the years, and most would happily "re educate" thieves, rapists and nonce's in a more "medieval" manner given a chance of getting away with it, but their hands are tied by red tape and do- gooders I really hope you get them back intact, and that there is some retribution further down the line. Good luck Dusty

It's the same with bicycles. I bought a mountain bike this year - one for the missus too, and was discussing bike locks with the shop owner. We got onto the issue of bike theft, and he has lots of dealing with the local Police. He said most of the bike thefts in Windsor and the surrounding areas are down to 3 people mainly. The Police know who they are, and periodically raid them to see what they've got. Due to lack of resources - yea, even in a "rich" borough like Windsor and Maidenhead, the raids don't take place that often so lots of bikes never get found. It's the same with motorbikes - the tossers that nick them do it for a living, expecting to move the bikes or parts on quickly. Social media and the internet means you can alert thousands to the missing bikes meaning they either sweat it out until things calm down, or bottle it and get rid. I think I would try and entice some info with the offer of a reward at this point as I think the longer you leave it the less likely you are to see them again.
Fingers crossed for both of you.
Dusty

I know it's easy to look at the simplest explanation of it being visitor but remember that there are lots of people that come to your house that may clock things. I'm always concerned by some of the delivery drivers that come to my house. One day, one of the drivers, who was in a plain white van asked what was inside as the label said 'bike parts'..... He may have just been interested but it got my guard up and I told him it was stabilisers for a kids bike... It's horrible to not be able to trust anyone but having very recently been burgled, I'm trusting everyone less and less...

I keep reading about people who have visited lately, well im one of them and i was really interested in buying the hybrid, i bought my exhausts leaving his house thinking what a cracking lad and knows his stuff. Now i feel terrible when some one says that it has be to be a a person who visited the house lately, that in my opinion is nothing more than an opinion.
For the record i contacted Norbo as soon as i read the post to clarify not only who i am but also to ask if there was anything i could do, ive copied and pasted on FB to various sites, hopefully he will get the bikes back.

The reality is that unless caught we may never know. It could be a customer or a delivery driver dropping off or collecting, it could be that you were followed home from a show, or even someone saw the 4lo being delivered was it in a van or on a trailer, sadly it could just be someone who checked your address out on the forum or website. No one can state with absolute conviction that it was a customer. I understand the rationale and also the anger as well wanting to blame someone for what is a completely wanky thing to do. I also understand that the police are a source of frustration for not getting soco out for not checking cctv etc, the reality is that they are over 20,000 down in numbers on the front line and do not have the resources or funding to respond. The vast majority of police officers are hard working decent members of society wanting to help and wanting to make a difference. You my not have encountered that and I am sorry if your previous contact has been negative. I however would rather have a service up holding the law with a few ass hats thrown in than either a full on shoot first police state or total anarchy whereby the power is transferred to the nastiest. I understand that these views probably won’t go down well. So be it.

Mine was delivered by kopite and was only visible for seconds. A trusted and well known guy.
Norbo's point about it being someone who has been there is that it was at his house in a quiet village, not at the business address on the website.
I understand the police are overstretched, not their fault but governments.

To True, i caught 3 scumbags at 1am in the morning attempting to steal my 1989 RS TURBO caught two of them and thrashed them while the third escaped with tools etc and drove off, my old man came out in just his pants with 12 bore i told him to get back in quick otherwise he would of been arrested and loose his certificate etc, the police turned up and said i could be charged with GBH They also did nothing apart from take them home as there excuse was they had only stopped for a piss and now left stranded. This was 20 years ago and i think the sight of my old man in just his pants with 12bore persuaded them not to press charges. Hopefully i won't be arrested for posting this

Twenty minutes later the lady called them back, to say that she had just shot both men with her shotgun,......guess what, two armed response units turned up at her property within minutes, to arrest her.

I was thinking about this last night. It's doubtful that whoever they are have any idea what they've actually got. Anyone, that knows about these bikes knows how distinctive and hard they would be to sell. Makes more sense to me that it is a delivery driver and someone that isn't part of the RD community. That being the case there's more chance they might try to offload them as they don't realise how many people are looking for them. Fingers crossed that's the case.

Dreadful news, you both have my deepest sympathy. I normally go to Rufforth autojumble but unfortunately can't make it this month, though a friend will be going so I'll ask him to keep an eye out. On a brighter note, a friend had an GSXR1100 nicked a few weeks ago. It was found unscathed in a lock-up twenty miles away after someone had been seen pulling open the side of the up-and-over garage door to squeeze in a C90. The police raided it and there was the GSXR, so there's still hope...

I dont think its a delivery driver, they just come to the front door, they never go pass the gate let alone down the drive and up the garden , and no delivery man has ever even seen a bike of mine most dont even know that i do bike parts its just a box they deliver. As i say my address is not on the forum or the web site . you only get it if your coming round . No customer who i have been selling to on hear would have done this so it has to be some one new the last couple of months and very few people come round the house so the list is short very short so in my opinion its friends of one of them who did this. The fact is we will never now and its all just frustrating guessing you could go crazy thinking about it.
Obviously the worry is now they have been once they will come back knowing i have more bikes in there so now i have had to remove all my bikes and basically anything of any value on both garage and shed and put them at a couple of friends houses a shop i know. as well as CCTV extra locks and lights just for the hell of it even though everything has gone now . This pisses me of as whats the point in having a big garage and shed and now i cant put anything in them for fear that some scum will come back and steel.
Im even looking in to selling my house now and moving to some place people dont know about and never have any one round the house again just meet people round my mums . As if i dont have enough shit in my head all ready from things that have happened in the past that i just cant stop thinking about stuff that torments me every day and night driving me crazy, f**king w#*#ers its the not knowing.

It's bad enough, but hopefully it's a one off and they get caught. I've always locked all my bikes and they're alarmed. The garage is alarmed and we have a dog. I don't like to leave the door open to let anyone I don't know see inside the garage, but if they're determined there's not much you can do. They're all insured, but as we know it's not just about the money, the hybrids that you guys build cannot be replaced or even valued.

Norbo's bike is so unique , anything off there will have it's own identity , I feel that bike will turn up as the scum will realise they can't do anything with it
Hope both turn up saying that
Always found with my bike when at pubs and meets, it always the shifty looking folks that have a good look at LC's ! I agree with that almost nothing can be resold from it thats why i think its some one who was told about my from a customer who has ben round and they just grabed the 2 bikes closest to the door. With any luck they are so stupid they will try and sell the stuff abut im hoping with enough people looking out and links on face book and other forums that some will get offed something and we can go round and point out the error of there ways witha few bats Count me in for the social reprogramming with bats mate. I'll also bring a blowtorch and several pairs of rusty pliers......

Any news fellas ? Have you had any luck asking neighbours if they saw anything/cctv etc ? Have you offered a reward for successful return ? As an aside - I keep in touch with a lot of guys I used to work with. Couple of weeks back, a local Fire Station was burgled during the night. Thieves entered through the upstairs fire escape door, crossed a large area of station to access the stairs down to the ground floor. There they opened the locker on the Fire engine that housed the heavy cutting gear - large spreading tool, it's generator and a set of hydraulic hoses, and stole them. They also accessed the Watch room - the heart of all Fire stations, and stole the Mobile Data computer. This has a data base of door codes for all Fire stations, entry codes for hospitals and certain secure premises, in fact a lot of sensitive information for use by the emergency services. It's cost the council thousands as they've had to change everything on the database - destroy all old info and start again on every computer with access to the database The thieves carried out the theft whilst 4 guys were on station ! The brazen way they did this beggars belief ! The thinking is some lowlife has been to a station open day or seen the gear on the pump at some point, and will now use it in a robbery elsewhere. You never know who knows what about you, and all you can do is try and make it as difficult as possible for the tossers to get away with your gear. I know a lot of guys have baby monitors set up in the garage/shed so they can hear any break in. A shotgun alarm is a good investment too - trip wire goes to a spring loaded plunger that fires a 12 bore blank cartridge that would certainly leave some dna from an unsuspecting thief. PIR floodlights, set up high so cant be tampered with, and cctv cameras are a must. I think Screwfix are doing a deal on a 4 camera system at the moment, so worth a look. Hope you have so luck finding them soon. Dusty
