I think you can use the Aprilia RS250 throttle cable splitter box too, and this also includes a TPS sender. I was going to use one of those with custom short cables to my carbs.

if I were to do that I,d need all TZ 750 springs ( hard too pull ) or a lock up an that just might be a little dangerous without a cover , OOH theres a thought ...

I like the dry clutch side casing but they should make a version with a cover like on the old TZs....this would also look even more like a TZ then :-)

Yeah I did enquire about the above but got told it would double the price , n at over a grand that's a bit much... I do have the tz cover n guard was gonna get it modified for kickstart but know these fail n often...not helpful when ur miles from home.. wont pop it back on , pain in the arse ( bumping ) when ur in the confines off a small garden tinkering..

Looked right at home when its tucked up in the chassis.
How much clearance will there be between the wheel and radiator once it has been fitted? I'm presuming it will have an 8mm core judging by the available space?

I slightly modified the rad in case of interference , ran it for a year no problems whatsever an as cool as a cucumber , new wet clutch engine for this year so will add a fan along with the pump gears too help out with the extra heat...

Do the water bungs slot straight in or do the barrells need a fettle? Only asking as my Athena ones do 😞

Are the bungs flush with the bottom face or are they proud so they squidge up when the barrells are torqued up . The trans barrells look like very good quality. Will the straight water outlet give you any probs?

Don't see the outlet being a problem if it does I have a solution in mind...

Would like to thank Dusty in pointing me to RD COX nr reading for vapor blasting services ,top boys what a job , I presented these cases to them after being so called done by another outfit , they were absolutely shocking shite n half done , I now have a sweet looking set of cases to be used.. Tapped all threads n blown dry even though I put bolts in all threads ( cant be too careful ).. Me rear disc was waiting on my return along with the Ti bolts , gotta job to do at weekend now..

Very nice indeed. Do you have to loctite the outer mains as they have no pegs to stop them spinning? Did you use three bond on both case half's?
|
|
|
Post by Mr Kipling on Apr 14, 2018 21:27:58 GMT 1
Ignition outer gets held tight by the rubber o ring , me TZ bearing I pop a smidge of Loctite , I only 3bond the bottom case...

Yep same as on mine but didn't use the TZ bearing, used the 10 ball. Seems to be opinions on using loctite on the mains.

Always people with diff opinions , Stan N Clive Padgett have both advised me long time ago in the past too pop smidge Loctite on me TZ bearings , never any probs cases still going strong enough said....Found some rare 11 ball nsk bearings too pop on the other crankshaft.. Can,t wait too get this motor back in the chassis after its pressure tested

As the sun was out thought I,d take advantage n pull it outside , managed too bleed the rear brake n set up the speedo magnet n cable for the vapor dash running it from the rear disc carrier looks better than trailing down the front forks , had a play with the EGT Dash , this,ll now mount under the speedo just need to finish the mount plate , ( no pics yet camera batteries died ) Ordered new intakes once they arrive I,ll drill n install oil feeds then get a few shots before I install the new motor into the chassis , I can then sort out the plumbing n finish placement of fan ..Getting bit frustrated now as part of me just wants to reassemble with what I got here but that.ll mean having to strip n replace parts later...Also removed the 11VT n BDK rectifier n re installed 10 vt n normal electrical gubbins under the seat .. The latter will all be installed on the 443...
