I have been working away for a while and missed the chance to take part in the Rockanje Classic TT. Kees who i have been on a track day with was also signed in with my other RD. A week before the event he manage to destroy the Rd i lent him (i regret removing the rev limiter) Being a bit of a softy i gave him my other bike to use. If you press on the coloured link word you should see Kees riding his last race LINK
In this second video you can see Kees having a close encounter with a lamp post. Luckily he was not hurt and only lost the gear change. You can see he didn't like his mates dad overtaking him in an area where you were not allowed to overtake. Skip the first 3 minutes LINK
I thought i would edit this as i now have the picture thing under control Heres a picture of the bike prepared by Kees for the event (nice numbers!)
I did feel sorry for him as i thought he was there all on his own but it turned out he knew one lad with a Honda 350 and Kees just wanted to beat his dad who had the same type of Honda but then highly tuned 500 version. Here is Kees and his mate together waiting at the start line The lone racer fixing his bike. Best not to hit the hay bails
His sister then turned up and thought that the bike could do with some better graphics
Here he is in action showing of to the local photographer

The Rockanje Classic TT is good fun. I mostly miss it due to work but my favourite time is Friday night when all the racers turn up you can walk around and have a chat to them. The good thing for me is that it is only 3 miles from my house. Once they had a raffle and the prize was a lap of the TT riding pillion with Kevin Schwantz Marsbar, Kees was very lucky and it brings home the reality of such events, I think he should do some more circuit time. In that video he seem to go a lot harder when that 500 overtook him. The thing i liked was his comments about most of the four strokes being slow.(he has never ridden a modern sports bike) When he met the tuner i use he told him the bike didn't accelerate fast enough. The tuners reply was Something like "Eat less pies"
