If it was new in a crate then he would still be too high. Doesn't mater if some parts are new, the rest of the bike isn't.

Great looking bike. Minty mint. Are there lots of them available in the old dart? Over hear they only pop up every now and then. About 6 months ago an early red and white bike(004) on the production line sold for a bit under 8K AUD. Needed some work but still a very low number.

Hi Ken, yes there still are a few about over here in blue as well. There was a bloke working next door to my brother in law in Coomera on the Gold Coast had no. 18 in red and white. I think the first batch went straight to Australia.

That would make sense about the first batch coming to Australia. I read an article about Yamaha offering the #1 bike to a race team hear but it was a red and white bike so they knocked it back as their team colour was blue. Instead they got #2 and #3 which where blue. Mine is #504 around mid year.

A mate of mine had a mint red and white one and took off the mirrors to take it on a trackday at Donington. He loaded a trailer up with 3 bikes, his R1, his SP1 and a mates 600 SRAD. He put the SP1 and the SRAD facing front and the R1 facing backwards because it wouldn't fit facing forwards. By the time he got there the wind had ripped the top of the faring off the R1, broke it on the narrow bits where the lights are and left it somewhere on the A50. He forgot to bolt the fairing to the stays before he set off.
He was not a happy bunny. It took him 3 months and about £300 to find another one.
