PWK 28 carbs They look a rough casting on the outside but I actually bought them from Cradley Kawasaki as Genuine Kawasaki KX carbs !

With the PWK 28 carbs fitting in standard YPVS rubbers, there is a gap so they don't seat properly Some folks trim the insides to remove the step but to me that doesn't help in keeping the carbs in snug and tight
Got some spacers which aren't quite the correct O.D. but you can see what you need
The little spacer on the carb
]
Spacer in the rubber It's a good 5mm gap
So I need the spacers 5mm thick , 28.84mm Inside d. and 34.75 Outside d.

Done it bodger style LOL Found a socket that was slightly wider and knocked the rings on with a piece of wood so not to damage them and it stretched them just enough to make them snug

Nothing bodgey about that. I call it inventive. Swaging metal as you have is a well established practice.
Good work, Mark

Try tz250 springs, some on e-bay and look to be long enough. Andy.

Good stuff Andy !
Take an apple out the bag LOL
I was looking for a spring that had the straight sections too and never thought of TZ stuff :-)

rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/45367/athena-cylinders-water-bung
Discussing the pain in the arse water bung that has to go in the bottom of the Athena barrels in above link
Athena left the area "rough cast" where the bung has to fit , so it doesn't sit right
Just trying to find out the best solution ?
Here are the Athena and standard barrels together
You can see the hole in question !
As Trubrit points out to , the actual bung half hangs out because the Banshee cases on the area forward of the cylinders is larger than the YPVS cases

This is where I'm at with seating the bungs so far ! You can see they rise up either end but that is down to the casting in the barrels

There seems to be different YPVS cases out there and if you are going the Athena route then you need some cases with the bigger front gasket face section like in the pic

Need to some of these springs next as I'm probably going to use my TSA's street pipes off my 4lo. Kenny made some adapters to suit as well. Will be interesting to see how they hang on the bike now? And how they perform compared to specially made 421 pipes?

Fit the adaptors and pipes to the barrels first to measure the gap as you might not need as long ones
There are some shorter TZ springs
Had mine from Dennis Trollope racing via ebay

My hardware shop sells them at 20p each. Not kidding. Low stock now so I might get the rest off them. Anyone need a couple give me a holler.

Are the LC and YPVS coolant hoses the same inside diameter ?
I had bought some ages a go and never really looked at them (YPVS) but they are like a sausage up an entry when trying on the LC rad !
I have some offcuts from my red LC when I built that and getting about 18.60mm ID , the new ones are about 21.00mm ID
The LC radiator pipes are nearly 20.00mm
Just measured the Athena head coolant pipe and that is 21mm and the new hoses fit that , or they would if they were the correct angles LOL
Wondering if it's possible to fit a thin silicone sleeve to make them snug , or would that make them prone to leak ?
I only need the 2 hoses , the one at the back of the barrels and the one from the bottom rad to pump as the one from the Athena head to top rad will need to be customised as it needs a sharp bend straight out the head then to the inline thermostat, then the T piece for the bleed pipe from the head then to the top rad pipe !

They look nice pipes I agree though, for looks I think shorter cans would suit it better. I have 6inch cans on my Tsa's - made by Mutts, and I also got him to do 6 inch for the Muttsnuts pipes going on my red/white Lc as I think they really suit the bike; 20171015_161352 by David Miller, on Flickr And 6 inch vs 11 standard TSA; 20171015_133508 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty
