Having issues with spacing the right footrest hanger out to accommodate the YPVS master cylinder
Think I can get the clearance but the footrest hanger has had to be spaced out 22mm Does this sound like too much ?
Really need to get the modded footbrake on and the brake light switch and exhausts to really see where I am

duc[/url] Had another look at the Ducati mudguard and got it under the RGV brace at the back but not right Think the Ducati has clamps that actually go on the bottom stanchion ? Any suggestions or does anyone make a restyled front mudguard for the RGV 250

The rgv mudguard has a section which guards the male part of the fork from stone chips, I wouldn't fit a guard without that as you could be asking for a heap of trouble ? Imho cheers Dono

The Ducati mudguard does offer some protection but I guess not on the scale of the RGV mudguard, but fitted the RGV one today and I feckin hate it LOL The Ducati mudguard is more keeping with the style I want and dare I say it , got a hint of the original LC shape !

Sorry but the rgv brake holder doesn't quite look right, doesn't the Ducati have a brake pipe that splits above the mudguard, or do the calipers lines cross over?

Yes it looks pants and if it was staying I would have it powder coated black to blend in
Trying to get info on the Ducati mudguard as I don't know if it had a brace in it
It didn't have the cross over brake lines at the back though

Hi Headcoats i have a '96 900 monster which i have had from new and it had the same mudguard as you. The mudguard never had a brace or the cross over brake lines at the back. There is a single brake hose from the master cylinder to a splitter which is behind the headlight then two lines, one for each caliper. Some time ago i fitted a carbon Ducati front mudguard as in the pic. HTH Mouse

Got my barrels from PJ's at last on Friday See above link for the saga
##NOW SOLD ##
(Money gone towards Athena Top End 392 kit)
You can see the 1.75mm stamped on the pistons ! Looking at the liners, they don't look as thin as I expected but maybe the liners aren't a uniform thickness through out the barrel ?
At least when they had to trim the powervalves, they cleaned all the carbon shite off them, saved a job I guess

Seeing as though I'm using this bike as my inspiration , I see the radiator has just been left without a guard and maybe the original rad was sprayed silver So thinking now to get one of the bare alloy rads off fleabay for about £40 There seems so many different sellers, are they from just one source ? I will need a rad guard too. something minimal that doesn't come round the sides but will cover the fragile cores Any thoughts ?

Not answered your comment on my post yet, but mine is a cheap Chinese one from eBay and it's brill, want a guard that just covers the fins, norbo is sorting me one out, also I'll put the s/s plates on the side too..

Already spaced out, just not the room
That's with the hanger already spaced out at 22mm

Dam thats close, use on the other end of the brake hose, heat shrink the wires, and cable tie to the hose.
Seen sensors run right to the back on MotoGP bikes so isnt an issue
Just an idea, 😁

Change the master cylinder to a top exit one. That will look really weird with the hangers out that far mate and the pipes will look even worse. Most use 0mm-10mm spacers.

I have 18mm spacers on the red bike and that looks OK
If I get one of those compact brake switches I reckon I can come in a few mm
Need to put pipes on too like you say Kenneth so I can see how it all looks
£35 posted is the cheapest I can get that special brake switch but otherwise I would have to buy another master cylinder then get another mounting bracket made ....
STOP PRESS
Found one in the UK £18 posted So wait till it comes and let's see

Switch has arrived so ordered a bag of M10 washers to get the final spacing sorted before I order proper spacers Kit had a M10 x 1.00 bolt (That's all they had) not the 1.25 one I need for the YPVS m. cylinder and it looks a slightly longer bolt, so will have to get one I did ask a question about the return spring on the foot brake as in is it needed ? On my Triumph, that has a tiny little return spring, so go down that route I think
Think I have spent more time feckin about with this than anything else on the build so far

Think I have spent more time feckin about with this than anything else on the build so far yes I can understand that, spent weeks doing rear sets, then found exhaust hangers were miles out, then the same M/C probs as you, etc etc, suppose that's special building for you. Why didn't you use the rear KR1 M/C, as mentioned it has a top outlet.

No pressure then !
The standard of bikes on here are getting higher and higher and I hope mine will gel into something decent Sometimes they go off in a total different direction to what you first had in mind !

Well the main point is that you are happy with the direction it's going in, I've realized we all have totally different ideas about how a hybrid should look, when rapidgaz saw mine his suggestion was to replace the original indicators for small led ones and replace the clocks for a new digital number! I was frikin mortified! The indicators are ugly in comparison to modern ones however that's how they were back then and in mho having changed rather a lot from the original bike it was essential to keep those items original to have the original essence and flavor right... also it's good that we go in different directions, would be bloody boring if they were all the same.. got to agree about the standard of most builds on hear being very high, but that's Brill as it gives us all inspiration and example resulting in an overall pull up the quality ladder for most.. keep the good work up Matey :-) cheers Dono
