RS 125 are virtually identical to the Pegaso. They take a 150 rear rather than the 160 on the pegaso. I had a spare set of RS wheels that I just sold on here, they're really nicely made. Just put the front end back in the bike to see how everything lines up now the rear engine brackets are fixed in place .. sometimes the things that should be so obvious somehow seem to merge into the background .. LOL... There it is, in the background... Wheres the face palm smiley..?

The forged Mille rear is a thing of beauty but is six inches wide with a 190 section tyre - too wide for the arm and a little over the top for a 535cc twin too. RS125 rears are 3.5 inch, as are the RS4, with a standard tyre fitment of 150/60. As my Mille front is a 130/70 tyre on a 3.5 inch wheel I think a 160 or 170 rear would be a good combination so I have gone with prizewinner Steve's suggestion and bought the 4.5 inch Pegaso Strada 650 wheel from ebay. Standard fitment tyre on the Strada is 160/60 so I'll try that in the arm to start with and see how everything lines up. Lifting the front of the engine in the frame so the spark plugs and caps clear the crossmember has given a little more room to fit a radiator too. I don't like how it looks but it is either this or cutting out and moving the tube. The front of the cases are 25mm higher than the rear .. hopefully won't look quite as obvious once the bodywork is in place.

I'd wait till you get the wheel and see how the chain run is before you choose a rear tyre size. I take it the frame isn't near the chain. I'm running a 9mm offset and I reckon that would be very close to a 160 tyre
Also seeing how much those forged wheels fetch are you not tempted to swap the front for a cast wheel too and cash in the pair of forged wheels
I'm just wary of wide tyres after going down to a 140 from a 150 and the difference it makes to turn in
Also a 130 on the front is massive, I'd be tempted to use a 120
Remember my Fireblade 130 front tyre looking a bit like a balloon

I really wanted to use spoked wheels but finding the hubs is far from easy. A KTM SMC690R rear hub would fit perfectly but second-hand wheels are three hundred quid or so which is a lot if I only need the hub; billet rear hubs are 200 euros plus post and the matching front hub won't fit the Ohlins forks. Even if it did there is then the cost of rims and spokes. If the Strada wheel fits the arm ok I'll get it matched to the colour of the Mille wheels so it matches the front, and decide on tyres at the same time. The chain run shouldn't be a problem whatever wheel goes in the arm. This photo is from a month ago so the engine is 25mm over to the right now, and as the position of the engine won't be fixed until the front mounts are in place it can still be shifted about a little to suit the rear wheel.

Tell me about hubs, just had to pay 200 quid for a refurbed gs1000 complete hub
Is this the first time someone will have needed a negative offset hub lol
You can move it inward by using an LC sprocket spacer and a washer to take up the extra shaft

Twin front discs and a cush drive for the rear ideally - I've given up on spoked wheels now, the Mille forged front wheel and cast Strada rear will give decent tyre options and I don't have to keep looking for hubs or have the problem of finding rims and getting them laced. Might change my mind once the bike is finished though

The frame won't be having a cradle - just front tubes at either side to connect the frame rails to front engine mounts. I thought that bending 35mm diameter alloy tube with 3mm walls would be fairly straghtforward - pack the tube with sand, warm it up, give it a tweak. Not that simple at all, so I've had to order more tubing to practice with. Once I figure out how to bend tubes without creasing or putting a flat on them the next thing will be to try get some accuracy from this thing ..

Hi Mark that is a difficult job with that type of pipe bender. Have you thought about using another type of pipe bender?

Hi Mark Not sure it will work but I’ve seen tubes filled with water and frozen before bending That was on instruments like saxophones so a lot smaller tubings Matt 🧸

You just know what the dogs thinking. Do you have a exhaust fabrication place or something like that locally? They might do a cash job for a little bit of pipe bending?
