350wayne put the NWS frame up for sale on the forum a few months ago ..
Hi all , I'm now selling this NWS frame kit to make way for a Tzr/Rd 500 hybrid that I'm building . I bought this frame kit earlier this year with the view of putting a ypvs 421 motor in it . This frame was originally designed for a Ducati V twin motor but is very similar in size as a tzr frame . This frame will need a bit of fabrication work to fit a ypvs / Rd engine but one will fit nicely in as I've offered a PV motor up loosely already . It would make a very nice special indeed , it is only one of 5 ever made ( this is no 5 ) . I'm in Nott'm ( M1 J 25 ) but this kit really is too big to post . I can email pics to anyone interested, and Dusty is hopefully going to post some pics of it shortly ( thanks Dusty ) . I paid £1100 for this kit and that is what I'm asking for it now , this kit is unused and cost £5000 from new ....
cheers Wayne
And the photos Dusty added to the For Sale post:
I bought the frame, Cagiva tank and carbon fibre seat/tail unit from Wayne last November and then started buying a few bits to get going and build something a bit special. This will not be a quick build by any means as I already have the RS443 that is with Kenny having pipes made at the moment so it could easily be a year or more before the project gets finished.
Wayne had certainly done a fair amount of planning for the NWS frame and it came with a set of tapered bearings that would allow a set of Aprilia Mille forks to be fitted, though he wasn't sure whether a Mille rear wheel would physically fit in the swinging arm as the R6 wheel shown in the for sale post was quite a tight fit and narrower than that in the rear of a Mille. The only way to find out for sure would be to source a front end and rear wheel and see if it all went in or not.
Within a week of meeting Wayne and picking up the frame I saw a set of Banshee cases on ebay that had been machined to take a +10mm crank. Apart from a repair to a section near where the kickstart shaft sits they appeared to be in great condition and just what I would need to start putting a big-bore engine together, though a +10mm crank would mean 485 or 535cc rather than the 421cc that Wayne had been planning to do. As well as the trenching for the longer stroke crank the transfer ports had also been opened up to match a bigger bore cylinder so I had a last-five-second bid and bought them for a bargain price of £56.71 including delivery.
As the cases are all ready to drop a +10mm crank in and given the choice between 485 and 535cc it looks like the NWS 2T Thing will be a 535 and following some quite lengthy discussions with a very knowledgeable friend it will be fitted with a cylinder that has powervalves to give a decent midrange as well as outright top-end power.
Eyrey1 put me in touch with John at Not Your Average Bikes. John breaks Aprilia Milles and agreed to look out for a second-generation Factory for me that could be broken so that I could buy the front end, rear wheel and associated parts. After a few weeks searching he eventually found this low-miles donor bike:
Quite a few people will think the Factory was far too good to break but now that I know for sure whether the rear wheel will fit in the NWS arm I really don't care
