So its home now. I have most of the parts except a few bits and bobs, I do need a full fairing set ( I have the belly pan.) I've bought a mint 2nd hand loom and a few other bits, The fire damage looks worse than it is, main parts affected were the wiring and the plastics. Engine was untouched Its been stood outside for 10 years (Engine was removed and stored inside after the fire)and was last on the road 15 years ago!! I'm just getting the hang of the forum so my posts should be more understandable now. John

Hi That looks better than I thought it might after you said it had been torched. Are you planning on building back to standard ? It's good that the engine has been stored inside but I think you still need to factor in a rebuild - that's a long time for seals to sit and there's bound to be some wear. I always like to start on a rolling chassis for a resto and then move on from there, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it whatever route you take Dusty

I'm not after a concourse bike just a nice clean runner, i also leave the engine until last as that's the quickest bit, I'm looking forward to it hoping to make a start on it by the end of the month, if I got it finished before the end of the year I would be happy I reckon I can do it for about £1500, I'm going to do the paint myself😀

Not trying to worry you in any way, but I think it's worth drawing your attention to (hopefully unnecessarily looking at the photos).
Insurance companies will not insure vehicles that have been in fires. A fire can affect a frame/chassis making it brittle, and prone to cracking.
What they don't know won't hurt them, so unless they have been notified you should be OK based on the pictures showing little damage.

Cheers for the advice never claimed for it so insurance will be ok. It's nearly stripped now and frame is solid and undamaged!!! Got most the bits now to fix as well,
Cheers john

Just crack on with the rolling chassis first and once it starts to look like a bike you will get some more inspiration :-)

It's good the previous owner never claimed for it, so it's off the radar.
To be fair the amount of fire damage in the photos should not of effected anything.
I assume you have the rest in boxes?
IMO F2's seem to have been considered the ugly ducklings of the LC world, but more and more are being restored now. Doing one myself.
p.s. Good luck with the build, and start a build thread.

Wont know fully until the rebuild starts
And here she is stripped. Took me 2 days to get all the seized bolts out the frame, Thank god for a decent blowtorch (Rothenberger with MAP)
All the bits are going to the powdercoaters today:-)

Nearly forgot I've done the R6 shock conversion as well. Really easy with a bearing press to get the top bush out the Rd shock to use on the R6 shock. The bronze bushes I bought to fit in the lower mount pressed in halfway by hand after a night in the freezer!!

You'll love it mate. I have more of a hoot on mine than bigger bikes I've got. Just take your time setting it up right , as of course the handling , brakes and acceleration is all so important for the fun.

Bought for £300 and spent £2000 to get it where it is today, loads of missing bits because of it being burned so replacing them bits and refurbishing the rest was biggest cost, my time was free!!
