Greeting's all: What do you gent's use in the UK as a direct replacement front brake master cylinder for the standard RD350B caliper? Is there any direct (plug & play) master cylinder of the modern 4 strokers that will fit the RD350B?
Thanks,
Daryl

Thanks! But that seems for the XS. I am looking for the coffin style MC that would be a direct fit. Seems like the Ducati monster would work. It's a brembo. Has anyone out here done this swap?

HI
the 350 B did not originally have a coffin style master cylinder, it had one with a circular reservoir, repro ones are available from Yambits, HVC cycle and I think economy cycle, HVC cycle sell them for as little as $55 but the tax and import charges make it economically questionable, I think the master cylinder for the XS is different but I am not sure (anyone else know ?),
you can fit just about any master cylinder and the brake will work, the ratio of master cylinder piston size to caliper size is the crucial bit, a smaller mc piston gives more feel but less power, bigger mc piston gives less feel and more power, the standard size piston in a 350 A and B is 5/8" (most are asco ones) or the equivalent in mm (but they are called 5/8")
my A model has a Suzuki master cylinder fitted at the moment but I have a couple of second hand Yamaha ones that I am going to refurb and fit to my bike (just for original look as brake is effective enough with the Suzuki mc)

Hello.
That is not exactly true a smaller mc piston gives more feel and more power bigger mc piston gives less feel and less power If mc is to small it will not work because you are reaching the handlebar befor you have enough pressure if mc is big you need bear hands to pull in enough force to make it a real good break To make it more clear if the mc has same diameter as pistons you need as much power in you hand as if you were pressing the pistons direct to the disc with your hands Regards Siggi

Gentlemen: This is fantastic feed back and insight from you the pros! I am looking at steering away from the OEM Master Cylinder as I don't like the antiquated bulky look so essentially it will be a new generation type MC ( the square coffin types) and preferably a Brembo. Not sure if the Yamaha motorcross bikes will have a 13 mm MC.
Siggi, based on your input, you reckon that the 13mm piston bore size master cylinder would be the best fit? If yes, I will also like to know which bikes come with a 13mm MC. Thank you all for your help, much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Daryl

Hello Daryl, I unfortunately don't have a list. I bought a new Nissin Pump 1/2" or 12,7mm. I think some of the RS 125 Aprilias und Cagiva Mito use 13mm
