I'm rebuilding the nitrous 7up LC that was featured in a few magazines in the 80's and I think was reasonably well known, the original owner and builder Nick was gracious enough to sell me the original frame that he'd kept in his attic since breaking the bike for spares 20 years ago. I'm trying to hunt down as many of the original parts as I can.

Nice little find I remember that bike from the magazine. Are you going to build it with the jacked up back end or the standard height.

I remember that mag coming out, bought and read it ASAP, then read it again... and again. LOL Love that it will be restored to how it was. good work! That's where it gets interesting, what I've got is the frame from the final incarnation, so green at the front, white at the rear, with splashes airbrused onto it. The frame is heavily modified, with the original subframe support loops chopped off, new shorter ones added, the jacked up light rear subframe snapped off on its last ride, and is missing. So, the plan is a mixture of ideas from the early and late versions, so frame left in the late spec with a short rear subframe loop added, possibly using an ARD style race seat. A faithful reproduction of the iconic paint job, period dymags, re-made Lockheed anti-dive, TZ350G bottom end, NOS kit, twin lights etc. I'm very lucky to have Nick the original builder on hand for advice.

Just sold a pair of Dymags that were destined for my Gamma, but they were too big for the LC. I can buy new ones if push comes to shove, they are back in manufacture.

I know for me it was justifying £2300 just on the wheels. Looking forward to seeing this back on the road.

Hi What a great project I've got the magazine in the loft - read that feature many times over the years. I seem to remember some of the parts being sold - the original swingarm if I remember correctly was bought by, possibly, a member on here. Long time ago now so not sure but it's definitely been talked about regards parts being sold. Good luck, it will be great to see it resurrected Regards Dusty

One of the reasons for the post is to see if there are any of the original parts kicking around, the swinging arm pictured (or one very like it) was fitted to the bike at one point.

Swinging arm needs more bracing....... Plenty of unsprung weight to give it that authentic 80s 'handling'

I must be living in a cave, as I seem to be the only person that doesn't know the bike. Great project; Looking forward to the NOS part of the build Could be the most severe power band ever

Interesting thanks, so some of the parts passed through your hands but you no longer have them? I saw some bodywork on eBay a while ago, but I believe it was from this bike, rather than from Nick's bike:

Jeez .. I remember that bike like it was y,day , one of many nice lc,s to grace P.B ..if I remember right he sold most of the parts at the time to go drag racing properly .. Think if I searched my archives I think I got a shot of it with skinny forks n fr wheel n a rather large rear with open pipes !!! Eek just realized that last shot showed it in some nice company.. Ritchie h,s nice p/v Patrick M,s n his Mrs LC,s who used to run the Powerband Crazy LC Club when it was a proper club ( m.o.p.o ) great meets great times wasn't as fond of the hangovers n being though !!! Many thxs for sharing that shot much obliged..
