Hi all , Giving some serious thought to buying another bike next year, something that doesn't need restoring (forgive me !) and quite like the look of the Multistrada and the KTM 1190 Adventure, has anyone had one of these and if so did you have any reliability issues as I would be using it for jaunts across the continent.
Cheers

Have you considered the BMW S1000XR? Some fantastic offers on them at the moment.

Have you considered the BMW S1000XR? Some fantastic offers on them at the moment. Beautiful bike I have to admit, had a look at one at the bike show yesterday but unfortunately a little pricey for me at the moment, was looking to spend 8/10k which is what I should have available as long as I don't but any more restoration projects that is !!

Don't know much about the bmw but my boss used to have bmw's then he bought the 1190 adventure and the ktm is a proper beast can bloody the nose of many a sports bike for sure. Its really quick if you want it to be but surprising nimble also seems pretty dam reliable which i have to say his previous bmw's weren't. Hope that helps!

Had a ride out on the KTM 1190 at the bike show and loved it, as you say could easily be a bit of a beast if you want it to, felt really well planted on the road which inspired confidence, only asking as don't know anyone that has had one and not sure about any reliability issues they might have. Obviously the Ducati used to have horrendous electric issues, not sure if this affects the modern ones though.

My mate has a Triumph 1050XC and loves it, never had any problems and swears by the build quality compared to other bikes in its class, He drags me round every stand at the bike show - every year to prove it!

Recently bought a Multi , mine is first generation on 2010 plate, 1200 sport, really pleased so far, not really been on a long run yet, all differnt riding modes are differnt , sport rips your arms out, urban is a pussy cat. Love the look of the bike compared to the BMW and KTM. Mine has full history with all the recalls done, next service is at 15000, now at 9000, service costs are high this is the only down side, roll on next year, cannot wait, planing a trip to Spain testing for moto GP

Saw a BMW gs100 last week and said to my other half, that looks quite nice and price is right and even she said your not old enough for one of those yet. I'm 53 next Saturday, how old do you have to be to have one?!!
