Jay, a COPPER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I wonder if he is in the traffic division ! Funny how things turn out. Fair play though. I always remember thinking they would be lucky to make it to 20. I also remember seeing Sean riding around Egham high street's one way system when he was couriering - think it was a Cx500 if I remember correctly. Last time I saw a Cx leant over that far it had fallen over !! That fella could ride !! Dusty

Is this the same Jay who tried to set up his own courier company called PDQ or something like that? He rode to Wales once on a plastic maggot with 3 cans of beans to last a weekend...last time I saw him he had a GS1000.

I don't know about that Alex. We lost touch after we left college. Jay always seemed slightly more sane than Hag , although they were both great fun to be around. Hag didn't attend the college but would come and meet Jay when he finished and they would go riding off together, making me wonder if they were gonna get home alive !! Dusty

I've ordered a V55/5 form from the Dvla, which could take a week to 10 days to arrive. In the meantime, I thought I would swap the wheels over. Did both the rears today, will have to cobble something together to do the fronts as that's a bit more difficult . 20180130_164340 by David Miller, on Flickr I really like the white wheels in a white bike. I'm undecided as to whether to add a stripe of some sort to the wheel rim - I will wait till the front wheel is in to decide. The black rear made it into the other hybrid; 20180130_153124 by David Miller, on Flickr I think this will look really good when the front is fitted. Once the wheels are done this bike is more or less finished Dusty

I knew the black wheels would suit the orange LC. I wasn't sure about the white wheels on the white bike, but I am now- looks really good. Rim tape or a couple of red stickers are worth a go. I cant believe you've managed to improve both bikes and it hasn't cost anything! I never have that sort of result .
Good choice mate

That's much better I think. If you need a hand doing the fronts give me a shout.

Cheers guys. I think it was worth doing. Swapping the fronts will really make the difference. Cheers Alex. I think I'll be ok - just got to prop both the front ends up at the same time. Gonna swap the front discs over too - the Galfers will stay on the pv hybrid. The orange bike will move to the front now ! Dusty

Two stunning bikes you have Dusty. Very envious. I am sure you have invested endless hours in building them to such a standard. Full of admiration. Personally the black on the orange, the White bike will take either set and certainly compromise the look.

Cheers Penno. Yea, a lot of hours and money !! We've all been there though My V55/5 arrived today so hope to get that back in the post before the weekend. I also ordered 2 sets of wheel rim stickers. Red for the Lc and orange for the pv. I think the black wheels may benefit from being "lifted" with a bit of colour. The white wheels may not need it so much, but I bought some tape anyway to try. Can always take it off if I don't like it. Dusty

It is a "Triggers Broom" bike if you know what I mean Different engine, pipes, bodywork, shock, and lots of little bits, but otherwise the same !! Dusty

Every time I see these I get very miffed, Being an impatient sod and relatively talentless I am still waiting on Mr Kimber to finish my anti dive, and I look at yours dusty and think not long now. A cracking pair of bikes and a real credit to you. And you were right about the Gamma I need to sell it as a std bike does not appeal in the slightest to me.

Hi Veg, It's the worst bit about building them - having to wait for parts you entrust to others, but I always use that time to spend on the little parts that might not receive much attention otherwise. Once you have a pile of bits ready to fit, the build flies forward when the other parts come back And I don't mind a Gamma, but I would have to streetfighter it, fit Rgv running gear and a 350 engine, and then I would like it more !! But you would want a ropey one for that, not your Walter Wolf - it's too good. Dusty

V55/5 now filled out and will be posted off on Monday, so hopefully, within the next couple of weeks I will get a Uk V5c and registration number. Big thanks to Shaun for his excellent "How to" guide, and also Colin (sbscnor) who helped with a photocopy of his form, which has changed slightly since Shaun's post. My wheel rim tapes arrived yesterday - red for the white wheels and orange for the black. I'm pleased as the orange is a good match for the paintwork which was more luck than judgement Swapping the front wheels was going to be todays job but all bike work is now on hold. I was out running on Thursday and stumbled on an uneven pavement. I heard my right knee "pop" but kept going as it wasn't too painful. Anyway, knee balloons up, and I get a visit to the Doctor yesterday. Urgent Mri request for possible ligament tear Doc says that usually means a surgical repair .I bought a good knee support which means I can hobble about, but my left knee is now starting to hurt as it's getting worked harder, and is starting to feel like it might "let go". So another knee support will be bought. I cant believe my luck !! Cant kick start the bike, kneel down on either knee or bend for long so bikes are gonna be sat for ages Think I'm coming out in sympathy for my Springer spaniel Indie, who has ruptured the ACL in her left hind leg The cost of her op would buy you a half decent import Lc !! Hi Dusty Yes she had two pins fixed into the bone with a figure eight piece fixed the the pins with acl attached to each part of the figure eight. She still looks funny as she is a rough collie with rear hind completely shaved, has to go out in dog coat Hope your dog is on the mend soon Sorry but we have more than enough people moving here from London lol Cheers Dud

Indie's is ruptured = stage 1 out of 3 apparently, so not as bad as it could be. She still wants to run around like she is on crack cocaine - I have to be really careful how I walk her now, so that makes 2 of us !!

Thats terrible news Dusty about the spanner,as they are so full of life and seeing them slowed by something like that isn't good, my mastiff had hers done it cost me £2500 my old working c**ker had her back done that cost me £4500 makes lc's look cheap. Our new working spanners Maggie and Frankie are covered for everything now insurance is worthwhile getting it isn't cheap but for these type of things. Hope she gets better soon. Oh and you
