Looks really clean. Great bike. Leave it alone, improve anything if it needs it. A nice piece of Yamaha history

Latest update
So i wanted to get the LC2 ready for its MOT, but I had a few issues
1. Indicators would not flash unless you revved the engine. So i whipped them off, sorted! 2. Brake lights and idiot lights on the clocks were working intermittently, i.e. they worked then i wheeled the bike around and they stopped! Also temperature gauge not working. After a few hours checking all connections I was at a loss, however fiddling with the fuses in the box had an effect (thanks Mutsnutts). So i had got hold of a NOS loom, fitted that and bingo! It all works. 3. Difficult to start and would not tick over unless on choke, also when you touch the throttle she stalled. Fitted new pilot jets and bingo again!!
The MOT, not much to say except she passed!
Out for a ride, seems to go ok, provided a smoke screen James Bond would have been proud of on the dual carrigeway! But the engine feels sounds ok. However when I got to about 8000rpm she broke into a slightly concerning weave, bad enough for me to back off the throttle, this could be any number of things, but i wonder if the c**kpit fairing could be the cause, any thoughts??
The test ride was cut short when one of the baffles made a bid for freedom from the exhaust, so I limped home and fixed it.
She is now taxed and ready for me to try and sort the handling issue.
On a different note, it was always my intension to 'hybrid' the bike, as I am so pleased with my hybrid 4LO. I know this may upset some of you BUT none of the mods I do to hybrid the make are irreversible and i will be keeping all the standard parts so that I can change it back or if I sell it. So I hope that will satisfy any of you with any concerns!!
The paintwork on the bike is pristine, (it's a shame that there are some cracks around some mounting lugs) so will not be changing that, the fame needs a bit of work and the engine needs a cosmetic overhaul.
I have been amassing parts for a while now and will post some pics.
That's all for now

Hybrid, hybrid, hybrid, hybrid You don't see many Lc2 hybrids, and you do build a nice one so go for it !! As you say, it can all be reversed. Dusty

As I remember it, all the 31k's i rode back in the day broke into a weave once past a ton or so and on more challenging roads, you can go through the whole chassis and see if there is anything amiss ,it would be simple enough to remove the fairing and repeat the exercise to eliminate it...im sure once you've completed your dastardly hybrid plans, it will no longer be an issue..!

My 31k wobbled a touch was also sensitive to tyre pressure changes . But as your are about to ruin a lovely 31k by fitting some awful front and rear end I ain't advising anything else 😏. Good luck with the build

Latest
Removed the fairing, it wobbles a lot less! Fitted a new speedo cable, the speedo works (it had the outer cable fitted but no inner cable!!) However the odometer and trip do not work
She seems to go well, managed 110 in 5th sitting upright with no fairing and about 8000rpm. Don't know if this sounds right, never ridden a standard YPVS
Handling in general is not great, very 80's!! Rear brake is savage, front c!!!p!
Oh and the baffles stayed in this time!
My clocks are in a really poor state. If anyone has a complete set or just a good top cover let me know

Would the wobble will be down to a worn shock? 30 years old and a bit of a heavier rider??

So... Got my wheels back from the powdercoaters. Never had anything powdercoated before, always think the finish looks to plasticky, however I am massively impressed, the finish is flawless, I now you can sometimes get air coming out of the casting which spoils the finish, but these really are superb. Also got my sprocket carrier and cushion lever blasted.
Also been amassing parts, a selection of genuine Suzuki wheel, swingarm and suspension bearings
and a load of bits from Norbo
Managed to pick up a NOS RGV rear disc, NOS throttle cable and very good grab rail from Fleabay
Along with a stator cover from Germany
Now the porn! Maxton supplied this already set up for me and the bike , Hmmmmmmmm
and a couple of bits I got on here, which happened to be brand new
Been trying to find some better clocks as mine are a bit of a mess
as you can see, all the lens's and case are cracked, the little screws on the clock faces are all rusty, but everything works, oh except the odometer and trip, but i will investigate this further. Anyway I bought a repaired clock cover from 'midlifecrisis' on here and i'm really, really happy with it
Many thanks Midlife. Anyway, that's all for now
