Top job mate. And that mechanical anti dive set up is the biz. Reminds me of the early Spondon set up which is the dogs..... Seems the bar is getting set higher and higher with each special appearing on this forum, just wish I had the skills Well done mate and cant wait to see the finished article.

Ok on a pace as it gathers momentum Made an alloy 3mm plate as a splash guard to cover the air filters from crap at the back got to dress it and then paint it black Also cut down one of norbos finest carbon chain guards to fit the swing arm which has left me some spare carbon maybe for little brackets

Contemplating painting the swing arm black and eventually I will replace the forks with 38mm marzocchis then I can get a set of 5 spoke campagnolo wheels and run a twin tz disc front end with twin anti dive but that’s for next year need to get the thing running

Why is nothing simple? Got Tz 350 pipes, the brackets in the wrong place so I fab some bolt on ones that don’t work so I have not got to fab some to be welded on then I order 4 rubber exhaust gaskets that cost me £28 and they don’t fit and the Tz exhaust springs are far too long so had to cut them done to size to fit I am at the point of smashing the feckin pipes to pieces 🤬 As I work such long hours and I’m generally away all week in hotels I can’t just pop in to the garage The hydraulic brake switches are now on back order I have lost my 1mm steel plate I bought for my clock bracket and I have just realised I haven’t ordered the temp gauge. No wonder so many projects are sold at 95% finished. Buggery bollocks

Stick with it mate, you are on the home straight !! I know what you mean though - sometimes you hit a purple patch and everything goes right. Other times it seems like nothing goes your way ! It's the joy of specials building !! The extra effort to get it "right" will definitely show when it's finished Dusty

Having spent far too much time fabricating brackets etc for the exhausts that are due to be welded tomorrow and finally getting the pipes just about done I wanted to be inspired so I test fitted the bodywork to see if it still looked as good as I remembered when the first had it done and I am still pleased with it. Got a few more jobs to do before it is off to daves to be set up and dynoed. Be interested to see what it puts out at the back wheel anything over mid 50’s I will be Uber chuffed

I like the way you have kept the wheels and brakes light. I bet the performance will surprise a few people. I do have a question. Are the pipes the correct type for your cylinders?. The reason i ask is because i lent a set of JL pipes to someone because his YPVS engine was only making 40 pk with TZ pipes. The JL's were strapped on and it made 56 Pk. Turned out the pipes were roughly 18 cm too short.

Interesting point re pipes so it is a Tz 700 top end but the pipes are Tz 350 now it maybe that they kill the performance it is booked to go to daves to be set up and dynoed it has 34mm carbs a proper ignition system and a complete rebuild so if it doesn’t perform it maybe that Dave will be getting more cash than I bargained for and obviously they would need different headers due to the different exhaust ports. Re lightweight I always believe that decent weight savings can be made the wheels are only 1.5 and 2kgs respectively as I weighed them and they are ex Honda RS125s wheels compared to the all in of about 20kgs for standard The pipes are massively lighter etc where I can I have made good weight savings so will be interesting to see all up weight. But it should have a far better power to weight ratio

hi Veg like everyone else , I love the paint job , any bothers with the carbon as I've been told it can upset the paint and clear coat? cracking build , top work If it is prepared properly and if it is decent carbon in the first place it shouldn’t leach through and it hasn’t my painter talked me through it and was happy with the base product it’s cheap carbon that’s the problem and to be fair to norbo his carbon products are decent
