Thanks dusty Yes I know itโs a popular scheme, I am now planning my next build which I am hoping will be a flat tracker 1970โs style either air or lc not sure just yet depends on availability of bits got to pick up the frame from Norbo to start with. Thanks again for the kick up the arse been times when I could thrown it in the skip ๐

Tim, Many congratulations on such a beautifully turned out bike.
You have built your vision, and despite the teething troubles, youโll get it sorted and useable. IMHO the mechanical anti-dive is a work of art mate, you can be justifiably proud of what youโve created overall.
Stick with it. bezzer.

Absolutely gorgeous bike Tim. One of the best I've seen and the standards are high on this forum.
What size master cylinder are you using for the front brake? and how does it feel?

and I've nearly done the design for your new pipes without the need to take your engine apart to map it, but I will need to take the exhausts off to verify if the barrels are early 4 transfer ports, or later 6 transfer ports, unless you happen to know, if you do then I can finalise the design while I am laid up

BTW - change that bloody side stand, it frightens me to death everytime I put the bike on it, I had a piece of wood tied to it in the end as I kept thinking it was going to fall over !

Dave glad to see your ok ๐. I will check on pics and paperwork and see if I can find out. No stress though. The numbers cast on the rear of the cylinders will identify which type you have, 409 probably. OEB

You are a star thanks Nigel, so does 409 refer to 4 port?

Its 40900 so i will try and find out whether that's a 4 or 6 port. Thanks

Just done some research the 40900 refers to early tz700 barrels so it will be a 4 port then.

A cheap endoscope inserted through the plug hole will definately clear up any confusion on how many ports

Superb Veg. A work of art and a true special indeed. I'm sure when Dave is back up to speed and sorts out a bespoke exhaust system for you, that will do it..........NOT!!!!!! I am sure you will find other things to adapt/change/ evolve as with all specials, and this forum demonstrates this constantly. Need to see if that paint scheme can be incorporated onto a YPVS and look as good too Well done mate.

Long term I think itโs going to have 38 mm marzzochi forks ( the forks to have circa 1985) 5 spoke campagnolo/marchessini wheels ala rg500 twin tz discs and twin anti dive unless of course I sell it and start again ๐

Thanks Tony will be a similar paint job on the flat tracker. Bike has changed a little as well ditched the ace bars and got a pro am fairing which may or may not make it on there. The Bakker would look good in a similar scheme. ๐

That sir, is a work of art. 30kg is a hell of weight saving to boot. That paint scheme is spot on.

Hi Tim just had a quick look at the build of this beeeuuutifull bike.
If your serious about weight saving ditch the radiator guard thingy, put small after market indicators on, if you have two horns lose one, carbon push rod for gear changer, get your exhausts made with titanium sheet metal instead of steel and use carbon/kevlar stingers.
On a serious note if your using a standard fly wheel change it for a lightweight version. That will save a lot of weight.

You sir have read my mind. Iโm junking further weight and superfluous crap, so smaller indicators alloy headlamp brkts one small horn rad cover etc and also sold the seat and going to std that Iโll get recovered in alcantara I know itโs not water proof. Itโs also a damn sight lighter than std but every little extra helps as they say.
