I had a '78 xs400 I restored then sold
With the bits left over I created the flat tracker

Its a 1977 xs400 2e model made for the american market, didnt need much work, i sprayed the frame and tank/panels myself,cleaned everything else up ,had the stanchions rechromed and aftermarket exhausts

Your making it sound so easy, what did you do about the dent in the tank? pull it? Nice job done and it really does look good. would be tempted to flat track her if it was me but then again she looks far to good to do that too.

I just used filler in the dents ,both sides were dented,,she's too good to flat track,not many of this model if any in the country ,quite fond of her,owes me about £1200 in total

Good on you mate, lovely example. I rode a mates one in 1984 and really enjoyed it coming from a 12 hp DT 125 LC. Cheers.
