... As Radio Caroline is live again this weekend on 1368 kHz AM via Manx Radio on the Isle of Man, I emailed them, and asked them to play the Sex Pistols, as it is the 40th aniversary of Never Mind The Bollocks. I didnt think they would play the Pistols, but I got a mention, and they played something equally as good for me. Here is a rather shakey video of my song request, on my 1957 Bush valve radio. steven. www.radiocaroline.co.uk/#home.html

Radio Caroline testing on 648 khz AM/MW, after 50 years of trying, they have finaly gave them a frequency to be legal on. Is anyone near East Anglia ? prob no one has a medium wave radio anymore ? They are saying sheduled servie will start after a few days of testing. I can hear them fine. The transmitter power is only 1 KW, which isnt much on the big scale of things. steven. www.facebook.com/radiocarolineofficial/

.... here is a quick video of Radio Caroline testing on 648 kHz AM on Saturday afternoon. I had to take my Radio/direction finder out into the garden to D/F (direction find) which direction the signal was coming from, as initial reports were that the signal was a Dutch pirate station. After a bit of buggering about with antennas, maps and compasses I realised that the signal was indeed from Radio Caroline and not from the Netherlands. I wonder when this old radio was last used to take compass bearings for navigation ? im sure a Satnav is much easier these days ! steven.

Hi Paul, Im afraid not, no, im not a resident in the Cayman Islands, I live in Scotland. I visited the Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman) in the 90,s when I was in the navy, and when we visited it was Pirates Week, which was great. I discovered by accident recently, while browsing the internet that it was Pirates Week. I sometimes get asked....."what was the nicest place you visited during your 9 years in the navy ?"..... ....my answer is, invariably... The Cayman Islands.

One of my fave bands after the mighty Sabbath; in fact I watched an AC/DC tribute the other week. The Bon guy was miles better then the Brian guy.....
