Finished my Gulf FZ and had a hoot on the IOM classic and at Jurby. I only finished it the day before I got the ferry.luckily I only live 30 miles from the port. the biggest issue was that the taper head bearings settled after the bike was strapped down and it caused the stock to just rest on the lower tree. I still rode it and just put wd40 to keep a bearing surace better post some pics now Jurby with a few mates

hi, I always liked them, my mate sold his mk1 gamma to buy one when they came out, the thing that struck me about it at the time was, the front forks on it looked about twice the thickness of LC forks ! steven.

I think they are exactly the same as the YPVS, in fact I've bought loads of stuff from Norbo for it

Always wanted a shot of one of them. I remember a fellow apprentice turning up at the Ferranti apprentices sports day on a brand new one in 1988. By Christ I was green with envy as I was still on a 125 at the time. I remember the new bike smell. Magic days.

Didnt realize we had a diesel section. Yes! Gulf colours are an excellent racing heritage colour scheme I love my FZ, but why does it feel like the front end is going to tuck when I'm turning and the front hits a bump...such as going into the driveway or petrol station?

are your tyre pressures OK?
they are quite sensitive and I also run Avons which they race at CRMC
the 16" front wheel also makes it that way too.

hmmm good question....I will check the pressures....they aren't worn but they are not new either...I see some cracking in the walls. Pirelli Demons I think. I have a sneaking suspicion it's the steering head but I don't have a way of checking that without taking off the exhaust and getting a car lift or something- just been putting it off. I love the bike (had one as a kid) and I remember it being renowned for it's handling but I felt more comfortable test riding my LC with no front brakes. truth is I need to focus on it at some point.
