Having decided to take my 350LC to pieces I realise that I am not as agile as I was when I was 18 so I have decided that the purchase of a hydraulic bench is a must.
It must be able to lift the heavier bikes that I have, be able to be moved around the garage easily, be well made and most importantly not mega expensive as I suspect I will need lots of money to get my LC back together how I want it.
I would be grateful for any suggestions of which benches and suppliers are worth considering.

I just bought one, but it wont really help you since I expect they are slightly different models here, just but the best you can afford i reckon, and find some other kind fo wheel clamp, they are usually junk those winder ones, I mean how are you sposed to roll on and lean down and wind it up? hmm...

The bit that might piss on your chips is the easy to move about bit, hydraulic ramps by their very nature having lifting capabilities are heavy, that why I went for a folding sealey ramp, fixed height but I'm finding it perfect for my needs so far rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/32274/workbench

I reckon you can lift the hydraulic ramps by one end and wheel it out of the way using the wheels on one end, then you could also stand it against the wall if needed, not flat but only about 6inches wide when stood up. not light, mine is 153kgs, but possible when you just lift one end. It also moves about no problem on its wheels if needed, needs a good shove but does go. This is mine if you wanted to see what I bought: www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motorcycle-Motorbike-Hydraulic-Bike-Lift-Table-500kg-stand-jack-hoist-/311417223975?hash=item4881e9bb27Ive been blown away by how much better it is working on this than the floor... wish id done it years ago :/

I'm thinking of converting a hospital bed for another ramp, can be got fairly cheap, bigger wheels to move around on, and should be good for the heaviest of 'normal' bikes. need one quite local though as will need to be picked up usually.

my son just got 3 hospital beds £50 each, I managed to get one off him so that's my project for next month, a little too wide so going to narrow it down, good thing is they're not too heavy . only down side is they let themselves back down to floor when power turned off so also need to rig up a locking mechanism.

I'm toying with the idea of using a trolley and getting rid of my ramp that's the same as Oebs but red. I've got a spare new ram with it too,,,,,need more room

I should have said that the thing I liked about mine and made me choose it over some of the others was that it has cross bracing on the lift arms and its made of heavy gauge steel. Its rated to go higher and lower and take more weight than the competition, if we believe what they say in the ad lol.
I know a few people have used hospital beds as a the base for one of these, should work well but will be a bit of a project, I bet there are plans for doing that conversion out there somewhere.

That one is a bit small I think, I would defo advise getting a larger bed if you can find room when its up, it makes a great bench for the stuff youre working on.
You can also recess your floor and put these lifts in the hole, then they sit flush with the ground level... food for thought.
